I got drunk and had sex with one of my guy friends 3 weeks ago no condom was used. i took a blood test at my doctors and it came back positive but the EPT was negative wich is more accurate?I am really scared this is my first year of college. This is the only guy i have had sex with in 4 months so it has to be his.

Blood test is 100% accurate. You can have a false negative but never a false positive. This is because when a woman is pregnant, her body produces a chemical call HGC and it is ONLY produced when she is pregnant. The blood test is correct and the EPT test was probably taken too early to where there was not enough HGC built up in the body yet or you took the test later in the day rather then in the morning when the HGC levels would be higher. Good luck and I hope all works out.

Well, the Blood Test is the most accurate. I'd tell the father of the baby as well as both sets of parents. I have a friend who got pregnate about the same age as you are. She didn't tell the baby's father and she is currently living with her mother and her almost 5 year old. She works 40 hours a week at a retail job and goes to school at night. She's making it work and you can too. You've just got to have the help of the people around you. Congradulations and good luck.

You are definitely pregnant. A blood test is very accurate. Blood serum will indicate pregnancy in ten days following conception. You will have to make the best of it though. Having a child is not the end of the world sweetie. You will be happy to see those adorable little eyes staring back into yours in awe. The pitter patter of little feet coming down the hall to greet you with smiles every morning makes it well worth it. I am not saying that it won't be hard but it is worth your while. You will mean the world to this little one and he or she will love you unconditionally. I hope that the father will understand and help out. Sometimes they are harsh about these things but you have to be strong no matter what. Also ..yes, abortion is wrong. Life begins at conception. I congratulate you and I pray that you will be a wonderful mommy to this innocent child to be. God bless you.

Hmmm. Well, you need to control yourself at school!
The blood test is probaby the most accurate - but you should get a second one to justify the first. Don't go off of just one.
Home pregnancy tests have about 60/40 accuracy - it can go either way.
Get a second blood test, if you can.
Also, abortion is NOT wrong. It's not something you want to do a lot - but think about it. I'm guessing you to be approximately 18 - you're young. You have no one who is going to be an actual father to the baby. If you have the baby, where does that leave you? Your parents? You've just ruined not only your life, but you've subjected your parents to another upbringing after they've worked their entire lives to bring you up right, and the kid is going to suffer because you are young, unemployed, living at home, and there is no father.
I know all about religious beliefs and all that - but it's better to think of your future - the one you have, and the ones you could have!
Another thing - I don't know your parents - but I think that, if you are pregnant - you shoudl talk to your mother. She may be more understanding than you might think.
Don't go get drunk. Study, stay in school, and unless you know the guy very well...don't have sex with him. You've just become known to his frat buddies as the drunk chick who will sleep with anyone.
That's not the way to become popular at college!

1st thing the at home test is not always wright. I have a daughter she is 8 yrs old and i took a home test with her but it was pos. I took a blood test also and it was pos. I use to work in ob/gyn and the blood test is always Correct! If I was you I would talk to my doctor about it more. Having a baby can be hard. 1st yr of college with a baby is harder but it can be done. This is something you would need to think long and hard about before you take any action. Do what is best for you. That would be the correct thng to do. Good luck! :)

the test that ur doctor gives u is more accurate than any pregnancy test that you take. EPT and other pregnancy test look for a certain hormone found in Women urine when their pregnant. The test can be defective or u could not be producing enough of the hormone for the criteria of the test

A blood test is much more accurate than an EPT, if it says positive then you are. I'd start exploring your options as to what to do next.

You are definately pregnant then. You'll need to talk to this guy and get a game plan. You are against abortion, but if you're not ready to raise a child you always have the option to put the child up for adoption to a family who is unable to conceive children of their own. There are options out there. But stay in school. If you do keep your child, you'll need the education to provide a secure future for you guys.
Best of luck!
