I know that everyone is different, but I just wanted to hear personal experiences. I am 38 wks. and 2 days I think and was told I am 75% effaced, but not dilated any. How long did it take before YOU went into labor and were at this point? I just like to read others experiences. I figure I'll carry until my due date, I just wanted to hear your stories!! Oh and what signs of impending labor did you have?

Reading the questions (and answers) on this site are you happy with the percentage of your taxes that are being spent on education?

If you look at the "adolescent" page, or especially "Science & Mathematics" we appear to be breeding a generation of morons who think that the answer to everything is either Wikipedia or Yahoo Answers.

What can we do about it?

I would be interested to know which country you are from, and what age.

PS I am 46 and a parent to a teenager. I am educated to degree standard.

(it's getting a little depressing) The last time i was ovulating was from August 16th-20th with most fertile days being yhr 18th and 19th. We had sex on the 19th and my husband ejaculated , what are the chances of us getting pregnant??

if you have seen it, is it scary (at ALL)? my turning-7 y/o wants to go see it, and i thought i might take her for a birthday present, but not if it has any scary parts in it, bc she gets scared pretty easily.

she saw #1 and was okay with it, but we watched it at home.

I think my 8-month-old suffers from separation anxiety. He starts to cry like crazy is he is left alone for two seconds. I live in an apartment so you if he is in the living room he can still see us when we are in the kitchen, dining room, etc. He always has to be in our arms or we have to be playing with him. This makes simple things like cooking, doing dishes, laundry very difficult. We have tried giving him a toy to grab his attention but once he sees were not near him its over. We have tried letting him just cry but if we let him he’d cry for hours. If anyone else has gone through something similar please let me know how to get him over this.

I recieved a bill for $400.00 dollars because my doctor somehow said that he took this test Cystic Fibrosis and he said that all pregnant women gets this test done.
The problem is he never took that test for me and he seems to be charging me for it. I really want to know what exactly is it, it sounds like some type of cyst.
However, I asked him about it and he said that it is a lung type of test that all gynocoligist do on pregnant women. This is my 4th pregnancy and I have never been exposed to that type of testing. I believe that he is up too no good, he is trying to get money from me. Please let me know if any of you women have ever been in a situation like this? Thank you, for reading.....

My son is about to turn 2 in a couple of months, and we have have a terrible time with his tantrums. Granted grandma doesn't help.(She's the one who's made him so spoiled!) Everytime he doesn't get his way, or can't be attatched to grandma's hip, he flings himself around, and screams like he's being beaten. He also doesn't even comprehend the word "no". We've tried time outs, spanking, calmly telling him "no, don't do that" and slapping his hands. Nothing has worked. We are absolutly out of ideas. The fits I'm sure we can work through, but not listening when we say "no" is getting out of hand.

Just asking because my sister has two children with annoying high voices with ear piercing screams. Don't get me wrong, I love my niece and nephew. But those screams.... I just don't remember screaming as a child, and my mother says that none of her children (except the youngest most spoiled one)screamed.Your thoughts please.

Ok here is the thing my best friends parents want to a adopt/foster care kids. Ok they are in their 50's. Ashley (friend) is concerened so I want to help so she is not worried about it anymore so here are my questions:
When you want to adopt do you get to choose gender/age??
Do the DSS always come and check out your house?
Do you have to live a certain lifestyle to be able to adopt/ fostercare?
Do you have to pay to adopt?
Sorry they maybe some spelling errors but I hope you understand what I mean.- Thanks if you can help!!!

My wife and I have been together for 5 years. We have decided to get pregnant soon with our first child.

My wife gets jealous/upset when she sees other women she knows with their babies.

She also gets upset when she finds out her friends are pregnant.

Its worse if her friend hasn't been with the baby's father that long.

She told me she wants to cry when she goes to her friend's house because she has a toddler and infant and my wife wants that so bad.

She says when she holds babies she feels horrible inside.

She has wanted to get pregnant for about a year now and I have seen her cry a few times because of not having a family yet.

Is it normal for women to be jealous/upset like this?

I'm taking a medicine to lower my hormones. Will I be more fertile by taking the medicine or will it make me normal like everybody else? Also my boyfriend does not ejaculate inside of me he pulls out, will that make it more difficult to get pregnant?

My son is about to turn one in september and he is crawling around faster than ever before. I have a large mat down in our room for him to play on and he doesn't seem to ever be hurt or in pain. Everytime I look at his shins and sometimes his knees, he has bruises on his legs that look like somebody has been beating him with a stick! I know he doing it to himself while he is playing but it is okay for him to be getting so many? I don't have anything around his playarea that he could get hurt on and I am confused as to why he is getting bruises in the first place. I guess I just want to know that bruises are normal for a baby of his age...or how to stop them if they are not
