I have a 16 month old son who goes with us EVERYWHERE: stores, restaurants, and trips. By the time he was 1 he had been in 7 states and a foreign country; in cars and on planes, trains and boats (he even went camping this summer).
The amount of time you're taking you daughter away for is the key.
For a trip to the store or a restaurant, count on needing: 2 diapers, 6-10 wipes, a sippy cup or bottle, a pacifier if she uses one, and a choice of two snacks (like Cheerios or toddler snacks) or the appropriate meal including bib and spoon. We also like to keep a sample-size hand sanitizer for wiping down tables and high-chairs or shopping carts, and we always take at least 2 small favorite toys (like rattles or teethers).
For day-trips or longer, plan on using: 5-6 diapers per day, a full travel-size wipe container, baggies for soiled diapers, spare change of clothes, a cloth diaper for cleaning spills, 3 complete meals per day and 3 choices of snack foods, disposable bibs and spoons, individual servings of formula (powdered w/ separate bottled water) and/or juice, 3 or 4 favorite toys (preferably on links or rings) and a camera!
We also never leave the house without Blankie, and a copy of his insurance card is in his bag at all times.

nappies, baby wipes (for cleaning her dirty bottom), and a change mat. Also a baby bottle filled with water is handy to have along too.
