My husband and I easily conceived our first son who was born in 2004, we have been trying for about 2 months now with no success. (it's getting a little depressing) The last time i was ovulating was from August 16th-20th with most fertile days being yhr 18th and 19th. We had sex on the 19th and my husband ejaculated , what are the chances of us getting pregnant??

First of all, the older you get, the harder it is to conceive. Although 2 months isn't very long, it can seem like an eternity when ttc. How do you know when you are ovulating? Are you charting your bbt or using ovulation kits? The reason I ask is because some people go to various web-sites and put in the date of their lmp and how many days their cycle is and it tells them. Some of us don't ovulate regularly or late in our cycle (such as myself).
If you know you are ovulating, talk to your OB to discuss your options. Many things can happen in just a few short years.

You can also try having sex every other day starting 5 days before your expected ovulation until 5 days after you've ovulated. In addition, you can elevate your hips for about 20 minutes after sex to let gravity help out and not lose any sperm. Position could be important in this case as well - missionary position is probably the best for not losing any sperm.

If you had sex during your ovulation period, then your chances are good that you may have conceived. Sperm can live up to 4 or 5 days. You'll be able to test in about a week. Good luck!

I also had a child in 2004(may) after I went of bc I got prego's 3 months after that but misscarried and then 2 months later I got pregnant and have a 9 week old. So just wait and see when the timing is right it will happen for you!

I had a similar problem that lasted 6 months. I finally went to the gyn. She said if I was not pregnant in 2 months then we would do some tests. She recommended after sex to lay in bed on my back with my hips tilted up to help direct the sperm up to my uterus. It turns out that my uterus was tilted in the opposite direction than what is usual. Good Luck. Relax, stress can also play a role in it as well.

If you are perfectly alright, physically and emotionally, then I suggest you get your man to do the following:

1) Cease smoking
2) Cease drinking
3) Discard his underwear
4) Stop riding on bikes - too much brushing of the scrotum is bad for his sperms
5) Stop sauna bath
6) Apply cold water to the groin area after each bath

All the above do not cost him a thing , maybe pride a little dented

My suggestion would be next month to try more than once during ovulation. In those two days see how many times you can both orgasm. Make it fun and have fun. It isn't making a baby it is making love. I know for us we didn't really set a time to try, we just tryed a lot, and it worked quite well.

Well, You should try harder. Imean to say that love making session should be a bit longer with all excitement etc.
Make love in the Missionary position and also see that you keep a pillow below your waist during the intercourse. Get you hubby to get in deeper and harder.Just when he is ejaculating.... get your legs on his shoulders. This way the sperm gets deeper in and faster. Be in this position for sometime before you relax

I am a mother of three kids. I got prg my first time with the first born. When my little girl was 4 I got prg for my second child. My second child died 18 hours after being born. Me and my hubby tried to have aother baby but it took us almost two years to have a other chid. As luck would have it one year after I had my second daughter I got prg for the 4 time with my son. It takes diff. timing to get a prg again for the second time. I was thought that the good Lord would blesse me with aother child when he thought the time was right. Good luck in tring for baby number two. Take your time aother baby will come.

Stop TRYING and just enjoy having sex. You're putting way to much importance on making a baby and not enough imporance on making love. Relax, let nature take it's course.

It will happen, just give it some time and have lots of great sex in the process. Also, don't get up right away when your done. Lay there for awhile...or go right to sleep...wipe up in the morning.

Honey, just let it happen if u get too scheduled your sex life will become boring and this can cause a lot of friction between you.

If its meant to be, it'll happen. Don't try so hard!
