Pregnancy & Parenting - 4 August 2006

Last night, my pregnant girlfriend and I were watching an old home movie of her family and a little baby girl had her ears pierced. She was about a month old. I said that was crazy. My girl said that thats what our baby, should it be a daughter will also have. I severely objected and said that she should be a teenager before that happens. We got to talking about makeup and she thinks that a girl should wear makeup as a preteen. I think she is going to raise our child, if its a girl, to be a little whore like all these other girls out there these days. My sister didnt wear makup until she was 17 and didnt have her ears pierced until she was like15. She turned out to be a great girl and didnt rebel or anything. Yeah the other girls were all wearing them and my sister hated it, but she didnt lose her virginity until she was at least 17. I would prefer that as a parent rather than prep them to get married and knocked up as a preteen. Thoughts?

First of all, the health risk. Being in a plane or a movie theatre with hundreds of other people is sure to get your baby sick or infected. Second of all, common sense?

Why the hell would you take your BABY to see a movie with you? You think it will remember anything, or learn anything from the experience? This really annoys me because a movie theatre that I go to has a little ad saying "Bring your baby to the theatre, for free!". WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?

Second of all, why would you need to take your baby on vacation with you? That's bull, yet again, and it's worthless, why do people do it?

Third and final, do these "mothers" not understand that it completely ruins the whole experience and generally PISSES people off when there's a god damn crying baby in the room?

I hear a lot of people say "Hey, have some sympathy, you never had kids before?", and I've gotta say, "Do you like watching a movie or trying to sleep in a god damned plane when there's an annoying crying baby there?"

My 1 yr old gets jealous and will throw things if heisn't the center of attention mainly mine. we even recently aquired a pet and he will alsoget agressive at what he thinks is taking my attention away from him. How do I curb this behavior?

My daughter squirms away from me as soon as I take the diaper off...any tricks you recommend to keep her still? I've tried giving her toys to play with and it only helps some of the time. Changing a diaper has become a two-person job!

the other day she was in this empty room in our house all it has i a bed and a old coach and a dresser well there is a pack of condoms in the dresser that she found and she think me and my bf have been doing stuff and we have not i know who the condoms came from my dad has a frined that comes over some times and they drink beer and the guy that is friends with my dad brought his son over and his son brought is gf over but no one knows they were doing stuff in that empty room so i did not tell on them cause i know how it feels to be tattled on it sucks so i dint do nothin so now my mom think i have been having sex with my bf in the house and she thinks im some kind of lil whore now what do i do ???

when your children talk constantly about the other parent when they are in your care? (Daddy bought me this, daddy did that, daddy's dating so-and-so, daddy took me here, daddydaddydaddy...) I am a gym-goer, about 4-5 times a week. During this time I do some moderate to heavy cardio. If I am trying to conceive, should I stop? I know when you are pregnant you shouldn't elevate your heart rate too high...How about when you are TTC or haven't found out yet b/c its too early to test?

should i take a two month old on a plane, the flight is only an hour long. the catch is she has not had her immunizations yet. shes gettin them next week. i tried rescheduling the appointment but they werent able to. im scared of her getting sick since an airplane is such an enclosed place really with no proper ventillation. should i still take her with me?

he scratches his head ( in just one spot) it's a big as a nickel bald and oozing i put antibiotic ointment on it, it heals up part way then he scratches it again. how do i get him to stop? please help school starts soon.

It hurt so bad last night I was ready to go to the hospital. I thought something was seriously wrong. I took 2 Tylenol and it eased up a lot. well it feels sore today and I dont know if its a start of a miscarriage or normal ??? I had 2 miscarraiges before and both started with back pain but it was very low on my back this feels different its in the middle. HELP please.

I had only taken one " active " pill of my new pack before I had sex, and also used condoms, only to discover they had expired a few months prior. I took an HPT this morning, because I am really stressing that there could be a chance I am pregnant. I was just told that the baby (boy) had been really low this whole pregnancy, and that may be some of the cause for the vaginal pain. It has looked like I had already dropped just about my whole pregnancy, but is sharp vaginal pain really ok? Its almost like he is kicking my cervix and hurts a lot. I have also started have braxton hicks the past month. The doctors have already checked my cervix and it seems solid. (they check it once a week now) Anyone have any advise other than "do what your doctor says"?

I'm in my 8th week of a high risk pregnancy (I have lost 4 babies in the last 2 years before the 10th week) I'm on bed rest, with severe morning sickness. My husband and I cannot have sex (not because the doctor said so but because I am so sick) I am very moody extremely depressed and ambivalent about my situation. I can't even hug my husband or let him hug me because there are certain areas of my body that are too sore to get within a foot of someone else, also I am just too depressed.

This is putting a huge strain on our marriage, and part of me is wishing that I wasn't pregnant anymore (ever again) because I just want our happy marriage back.

To make matters worse, my sense of smell is so strong now, that when my husband even just brushes his teeth, it smells like he's been rolling around in toothpaste and he makes me gag. To put it mildly we are not enjoying each other right now.

Yesterday I took my son to a dentist he is 4 and they couldn't see him becuase he would not open is mouth and the dentist had little patience for him I tried explaining that he was scared but dentist did not want to hear it and they said he needs to go to a specialist where they can give him nitrous oxide is this dangeous for him will it knock him out I don't want him knocked out serious anwser please I am very concerned

I had mine done and dont really think there's anything wrong with me and it taught me a lesson when I was a kid. I was wondering if its alright to do to my kids when the time comes. I also had tabasco put on my tongue and that inspired me to not cuss until I was 16. It was a ten year cure and am considering that too.
