As I've said before.....
The picture is BEAUTIFUL. The baby's eyes are so intensely focused on mom!
I think that, for a parenting magazine, it's a VERY appropriate cover.
I'm saddened that so much of America was offended by it.
I think people need to get over their own hangups. It's a baby. Eating. The way that God/nature intended for all MAMMALS to eat.
You actually see less breast there than you will on the red carpet at the next Academy Awards.

If those people who wrote in to complain about that cover would focus on REAL issues, the world might be a better place. I can't believe people actual got offended to the point that they took time to write to the magazine about it. If those same people could only have the same passion for getting child molesters off the streets FOREVER and sent letters to their state reps, maybe the world would be more safe. There's obviously NOTHING wrong with that cover, it's PART OF NATURAL LIFE. People in this country focus on the dumbest things instead of trying to make a difference where it truly counts. It's such a shame. Some people's priorities are soooo messed up!

I think this article is ridiculous! I enjoyed breastfeeding my son...and I think every woman should at least attempt it. However, the picture on the magazine cover--the baby just doesn't look like it is feeding.....I have never held my baby in that way to feed, and it looks awful uncomfortable. But, I guess as long as the baby is getting breastmilk (which is the absolute best for him/her), that's all that matters. I do not find the picture on the cover offensive at all...in fact, I think more magazines should have pictures of mothers caring for their children.....so the public can get used to breastfeeding mothers. I had no problem whatsoever breastfeeding in public. You don't like it? Turn your head away. Besides, I think it's a little rude for people to gawk at a mother breastfeeding anyway.....

More power to the editor of this magazine!! Good job!

I think that it is a beautiful cover shot, and that many, many people need to pull their heads out of their asses. What could possibly be disgusting about babies being fed the way that NATURE provided us with? What is disgusting is the way people give their newborns a "chemical cocktail" of sorts, because they don't want to "ruin" their breasts, or take the time because they are too lazy (medical reasons exempted of course), or are uneducated about breastfeeding due to the stigma this article illustrates. I'm sure the majority of those people would not find some Hollywood starlet with a see-through dress disgusting. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!

Oh please..obviously the ones that wrote in are uneducated, insecure, and probably don't mind letting their partners go at their breasts instead of their children like a real mother should do. I can't believe the ignorance in this society. I didn't think it was this bad. The US is supposed to be a very advanced country, obviously not in brains. How could a mother that actually supposedly loves their child settle for artificial formula instead of giving it the best? I just don't get it. I feel sorry for the children of these dumb parents, they deserve the best and all they get is inferior nutrition because of their parents hangups..so pathetic.

Are those women really that insecure that they were worried their husbands might get turned on by some woman breastfeeding on the cover of a magazine?!? I don't think it is embarrassing or gross or horrible, just natural. It is something that is beautiful between a mother and a child, something that God created a woman's body to do!! Those people need to lighten up and get a life!

I don't think that there's anything wrong with the cover. I wasn't offended by the cover at all, I think that it's a beautiful & natural thing. People who get offended by women breastfeeding in public should get a life & stop acting stupid.

Why are people so freaked out by that?!? I don't get it! What is wrong with feeding our babies? In public or not? I'm proud of Baby Talk for taking a stand. This is a very natrual thing...done by every mammal all over the world...so why is it "taboo" for HUMANS to feed their babies? Geesh!

(thanks for sharing the article...I'm looking forward to reading what the other answerers have to say)

I read this earlier today, and I couldn't believe that in a society such as ours, one that is completely obsessed with sex and violence, people would actually have a problem with a nursing baby...it just doesn't make sense. I have to stand in checkout lines with my children seeing magazines that talk about all sorts of immoral subjects -- so I have absolutely no problem with them seeing a picture of a baby being nourished by its mother.

I think people need to get a life! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this cover. There are far worse things in magazines and television. I think it was done very beautifully.
