I gave her a piece of bread the first night and reminded her that she didn't eat. Then reminded her at dinner that she had woken up hungry. Last night I was so mad I told her no. And went back to bed, but then got back up and gave her a piece of bread. I felt quilty letting her lie there hungry. But I can't sleep after I get up like that so I'm close to not letting her have anything if she wakes up again tonight. Any suggestion?

I am a father of two, I have a son who is 6 years old and a newborn daughter who is 3 weeks old. Me and my wife leave our daughter in her cot alone so she can sleep and we have baby monitors so we can hear if she's crying. At first our son was very fascinated about the new arrival, he knew she was coming because we have been telling him about her for the last 6 months, ever since he asked why his mother has a large bulge in her stomach. Anyway, as I said, he's very fascinated by the baby and he asks us if he can go and sing to her to send her to sleep like we do to him so, naturally, we allow him to do this so he can develop a good 'big brother, little sister' bond. Needless to say I was very shocked when I went in to check on the two of them and my son was slapping his penis on her face. Surprisingly, she wasn't crying, in fact, she cries very little. I'm not sure how to confront my son about this and I think it's for the best if I just leave it be, I mean, it could just be a phase...

I lose control when I see adults beating thier children when they cant defend themselves. I'm told I'm wrong for getting involved and I should mind my own business. My only response is try beating on someone who can hit back!

There seems to be a large contingent of people who believe that letting children stay up late is baadddd. Obviously if they're in school a reason for bedtime is that they need to be in bed at a certain time in order to get enough rest to function the next day, but when they're not, what's wrong with not setting one?

I married when I was 19 because of pregnancy(now I'm 28).My husband works all day and I stay at home with the children.I haven't got any other work to do(we have a maid for the cleaning and cooking) so we make kids, but already they are too many - 3 girls and 4 boys. The girls share one room and the boys share another. They all complain for not having enough place. The girls' ages r 8,5,5 and the boys are 7,4,2 and a newborn baby. It's not the only problem. The other problem is I haven't got anyone to leave the kids to when I go out with friends,so I usually leave them alone, but I feel it's not right.Give me some advice about the place(not enough).
