HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. This is the actual illness. They are both bad. If you have HIV, you can pass it on. If you have AIDS, you have the disease and symptoms.

AIDS is worse although I do not know much about it. HIV is the initial disease that one gets and AIDS develops out of HIV I bellieve.
