Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 August 2006

I was just wondering....

IF there was a group home set up for pregnant teen mothers where they could live through out their pregnancy and for 8-12 weeks after giving birth, would it be a good place to go. Here you would be taught basic parenting and life skills, prenatal classes and have to help and support you need to get through your pregnancy. You would have someone who would help take you to your appointments and be your labour coach while in the hospital.

I realize such places exist but are few and do not help everyone in this situation.
My best friend and I were contemplating on starting such a group home. She has a social work background and I have a labour & delivery nursing background.

It would not be that we are promoting teenagers having babies but would be a place for them to go when they had no where else.
We realize this is not a way to get rich and this not the reason why would be doing it.

Just wanted some opinions to if this would be a worthwhile cause

This is my first pregnancy and I am 14 weeks pregnant going on 15 on saturday. I've felt a couple of "bubble like" in my stomach while lying down and or walking. Can it be my baby? Since this is my first pregnancy, I don't know what to expect. HELP?!

My husband is overseas until May 26, 2007 but will come home for Christmas for two weeks. I am thinking about having my IUD removed before he comes home so we may try to conceive during his visit. Should we go for it, knowing I will be alone for 5 months of the pregnancy or wait until he gets home next year? I have a 6 yr old son already from a previous relationship and want a sibling for him ASAP. Any advice on this matter is truly helpful. Thank you.

I want to know of any exercises that can be done with little children (5 and down) that can teach them to control their impulses and wait patiently for things. Any other tips to better socialize young children?

I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and have had brown spotting off and on. Yesterday I started to get bright red blood, like moderate flow during your period. It didn't have clots or anything and I wasn't having cramps, but there was quite a bit of it. I freaked out and went to see my doc, he did an ultrasound and the baby looked fine, but I may possibly have something called a subchorionic hemorrhage and he put me on bedrest for a couple weeks. Today I was only getting light spotting again that was dark brown in color. Spotting is scary though!! Anyone else experienced anything like this??

I just need advice. In april I got pregnancy but misscarried very early. The next month I got pregnant again but it turned out it was a tubal pregnancy, and I had the shot, methotraxate to misscary the baby fetus without having the surgury. That was also early pregnancy to. I just found out a couple months later that I am now 4 weeks pregnant and I was wondering what the percentage is of having another tubal pregnancy. I am hoping this isn't another bad pregnacy. Does anyone have advice for me? I would greatly appriciate!

I had an experience at my grandmother's house and ever since then I have had a fear of dolls. I especially don't like manacins, porcelin or those dolls that shut their eyes when u lay them down, so how do I deal with that if and when I have a daughter?

The little girl I'm in the process of adopting will be here in 2 weeks for a 2 week visit. I need some ideas on how to keep her entertained. We will be going to a couple lakes, the zoo, miniature golf and to make personalized teddy bears. I make plenty of money, but don't want her to learn to be a spoiled, so some ideas on keeping her happy without spending hundreds of dollars would be nice. ok so i have this calendar of when i ovulate and fertile well i started to ovulate eary from seeing discharge and now i cant follow the calendar so how do i know when i am fertile lol do i just have sex every day or what........... we have been trying for a longgg time to get preg. i have really bad irregular pers. and i just now been getting them every month and my doc said now would be the best time to go for it since i am getting back on track so i really want this to work before my body starts to skip again any ideas would help oh and pls dont answere if u dont know and dont say go buy a temp thing i broke mine and i cant buy a new one untill 2 more weeks thanks

My son is a little over 12 months old. Now, I give him a bath every other night. i used to do it in the sink, but he started standing up. So i moved to the tub, and he refuses to sit down! i try and try, and he won't. He will stand there and hold on to the shower handles! Lol... and i leave the water running, i don't fill the bath, im too nervous. .
Now, as soon as i shut the water off, he will splash around, but he still won't sit!
Does anyone have a clue about this? its just very odd, and makes for a hard time!

how can you just walk away from your kids? and make them wondering what did they do wrong? how can we get you back? to make us lay in bed just wish you would come back....but you don't. so we grow up not know or caring anymore or ever wanting to see you again.... i am going to the mariens and my girlfriend who is 6 months pregnante will not give our baby up for adobtion and i am telling her that it is the best thing to do because i want a life in the marines and she is going to ruin it and she is being selfish for not wanting to give the baby away. I told her she need to but she wont i am not ready to be a father and this baby should go to someone that can take better care of it though my girlfriend thinks she could do a perfectly fine job i asked her why she did not want to give the baby up and all she had to say was that i should have mention something sooner and she said she is already attached to the baby and could not give it away and she was crying though i did feel bad about making her cry she told me she has already got things and picked out the name well i want my future and i dont want this kid and she is being a dumb B**** how can i convice her to change her mind?
