you body is preparing for labor. your cervix dilates to 10cm when you are fully dilated. that is push time. 1cm at 35 weeks is really nothing to worry about. however, your cervix being thinned to 50% may consistute some worry. is this question for you? are you on bed rest? i was 1 cm dilated for WEEKS before I had my babies and it was no big thing. they will probably keep close tabs on you and your thinning cervix. make sure you are getting lots of rest, stay off your feet if you can and drink lots and lots of water. the longer your baby is inside of you, the better off your baby will be! good luck.

Not much.
Some people walk around like that for many weeks, and some people don't dilate or efface at all until they're in active labor.
Don't worry. Kids born after 32 weeks have great odds that they'll be just fine, and you're considered full-term at 37 weeks.

not much. If its your first baby, and it sounds like it is, then it will probably be a while.
Basically you still have 9 more cm to go, and your cervix is only half way thinned out so the baby can pass through. On my first I was stuck at 3cm and 75% for almost 6 weeks. my 2nd 4 weeks. Just means you're probably gonna be full term! sorry, but not much longer!

Lots of people dialate a few centimeters around this time. Effaced means that your cervix is getting ready for the delivery. It still could take it the next 4 weeks to be completely ready tho. Good luck.

Didn't you go to any classes? It means you're getting close even though at 35 weeks you have a bit more than 3 weeks left officially. Just a note, if your water breaks, go to the hospital right away. Don't panic, just be prompt, OK?

nothing. doesnt tell you at all when you will deliver. you can remain that way until you are overdue. or have a baby tomorrow.. really means nothing, no way to know.. My perinatologist wouldnt even bother checking me the last few weeks. b/c its pointless.

You have begun to dialate and the baby is turning into the position it needs to be when delivered. I think you are almost ready. ( are you very soft under your belly yet? if you are your almost there) This is from my experience.

dilation is how far your cervix is opened and effaced is how much your cervix has softened up
