Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 June 2006

A mom of a 2 1/2 month old baby girl, work all day. But my in-law take care of the baby, ipay them monthly. The thing is in the evening time i'm home and at certain hour my baby get fussy, when i pick her up, rock her, kiss, talk to her but she will not stop.
As soon as my in-law rock her to sleep she stop. How can i get her to not be attach to my in-law and how can i make her not fussy.

Are you left or right handed? What are your parents? I'm interested to know if it's hereditary.

My mum is left handed but me and my brother and sister are right handed. On the other hand, so to speak, my cousin is left handed and from the age of about 1, her daughter was left-handed. I think it is interesting.

I am due to deliver in 2 days and I have read that the baby's movements will decrease right before labor. Then I read the baby will stay active the whole time. I have noticed a decrease in my baby's movements over the past 2 days and I was just wondering if anyone knew. Also, do you have to lose the mucus plug before labor starts or does it matter?

Im 19 and my boyfriends 22, we have been together for 2 years and have a very loving stable trusting relationship. because i love him so much and feel that i want to be with him forever, i cannot stop wanting a baby! i find it very hard not to talk about it to him, but realistically i know its not what me or him wants, not yet at least. is there any way possible i can stop this overpowering urge?

I skipped my period this month, yes took 3 pregnancy tests and then when it was 4 days late had a blood test confirming the negative result. Well had a TON of stress this month, my grandpa passed away 3 days ago, closed on a new house, had to find renters for the house, lost my daycare for my daughter, etc... so it is understandable stress could have made me not get a period. Well, 3 days ago I started getting ovulation pains and my cervix was in ovulation position (we are trying to get pregnant again so I keep track of this). We did have sex so if I did ovulate I could get pregnant, but I am wondering if due to stress my body could ovulate again instead of getting a period? My doctors office will not see me unless I have not received my period for 6 months, they are an HMO and I cannot change docs because I can only see ones affiliated with the plan. Is this normal? Can this happen? Could I be pregnant in a couple weeks? Thanks for any advice!!!!

I am late with my period that I have been regular on for seven years. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant so it's not a bad thing at all. I took a test yesterday and it was negative, but I still haven't started.

My son is 2 1/2 years old and for the past month or so he has been having a lot of behavior issues that are hard to deal with. I feel as though I have tried everything. He almost never listens to me when I tell him to do things, such as "stop hurting the kitty" ,"don't hit your sister", "get out of the refridgerator" and so on. He hits and bites is 18 month old sister and screams if she takes something from him or has something that he wants. Sometimes and hits and kicks my husband and I when we try to dress him, pick him up or even hug him.

I have tried giving him more attention and spending time alone with him. I have tried sitting down with him and looking him in the eye and explaining to him that what he is going is not appropriot and that he needs to stop (telling him why as well). I have tried giving him short time outs taking toys (or whatever is causing the problem) away from the situation. I don't know what else I can do since none of this helps.

My brother is a big man 250Lbs, 6'4". When he scolds his child, he does it very physically. He rarely hits the child, but he does a lot of grabbing and jerking and pushing the child down. I'm afraid one day that he'll really hurt his child. How can I talk with him about it and not make a family feud over it? We've tried to approach him before, but he normally nips it in the bud and changes the subject with a tone that suggests he doesn't want to get into that subject.

I had a pap done about 8 months ago and it did not come back with abnormal cells or anything... then I had one a couple weeks ago and it came back with abnormal cells and I was told that it was HPV. Since my first pap test (8 months) ago, I had found out my (ex) boyfriend cheated on me.... did I get the HPV from him becuase of who he cheated on me with? Or could I have had it a long time ago and it was jsut dormit??? Please only answer if you really the answer.. thanks :)

Almost 2 months ago I posted asking people to pray for my nephew who had just been born and was having problems. Yesterday he had surgery and is now able to eat on his own and is doing fine. This morning my husband mentioned to me that the mother won't be getting custody of ean and he doesn't think the father will either b/c he failed a drug test. We had a discussion about the possibility of adopting him since he is now in good health and we can take care of him. We want to keep him in our family and we are they only people who aren't on drugs or drunk all the time. We also want another child but I don't want to be pregnant again b/c I absolutely hated it.


The only problem is that he is only 9 months older than our daughter and I don't know if I can handle two children so close in age.


I really need some help with this.

My boyfriend doesn't really talk to me all that much. I try starting conversations all the time with him but he never seems to start them himself or really talk long about them with me. Isn't is funny when you look back to high school?

You got up in the morning, spent time getting your hair "just right" and putting on makeup... then you had to pick out what pair of name brand jeans you were going to wear for the day.... then the shirt (AND IT HAD TO MATCH PERFECTLY!) Then you put on your (in my case) $150 pair of shoes and mosey on off to school...

Now 23 yaers old and 2 kids later, I don't get a darn what brand of jeans I'm wearing (but they DO have to be clean) or what brand of shoes (mine are from walmart) and my hair goes straight into a ponytail so I don't have to worry about it... Makeup's only for special occasions and my idea of "fun" is working in the yard!

Isn't it funny how just 6 or 7 short years can completely change who you thought you were??? .... What's funnier still is... I wouldn't go back! I love my life! =)
