Because the language is foul and very few parents want their kids emulating the kids in those cartoons. Also, Beavis and Butt-head is painafully stupid.

You know what. That is a great guestion. In my opinion they are afraid they didn't properly teach thier children right from wrong. When I was a kid it was beavis and butthead, ren and stimpy and the simpsons.. My mom never censored what we watched and my brother and I both are very well mannered good people and were as children too. We knew what cuss words were, we also knew they have a right place and a right time.

Because then the parents might actually have to (gasp!) take time from their "busy schedules" to explain right from wrong, and why the kids should not imitate everything they see on TV. And most today just do not want to do that, their careers and social lives mean too much to them to waste time on their kids.

Because the shows teach disrespect, bad behavior, the kids on the shows act like jerks. Not the best role models.

Because the content in both of those shows are definitely adult oriented...some kids might not understand...some kids like to copy what they hear or see...that would be very inappropriate at school or in social situations...its just the content of the shows...not good for kids who don't understand things yet...thats all

because.....its not good for a child to see and hear that stuff, its an ADULT cartoon, you didnt know that? so is 'swim' those are all for adults, NOT children, you've never heard the cussing, the sexual talk etc?? you think that is alright for your kids to see and hear? i bet you'd feel pretty stupid if their teacher called you to talk about your childs behavior and language due to tv. because tv is a big influence on kids

Because those cartoons are stupid.
It's hard to try to teach your kids right/wrong/morals and then let them watch cartoons that "undo" all you tried to instill in them.

We also feel that if we codone these cartoons that we will be coding their behavior, which isn't true at all.

ki_kompton is retarded obviously your parents suck they did not teach you to think before you talk. those cartoons are funny to watch but they do have a bad influence in children and parents want whats best for their babies.

children are impressionable and will act out what they see on televison, my son watches dora the explorer and is learning to speak spanish, this is preferable to him watching south park and learning to curse.
