I am due to deliver in 2 days and I have read that the baby's movements will decrease right before labor. Then I read the baby will stay active the whole time. I have noticed a decrease in my baby's movements over the past 2 days and I was just wondering if anyone knew. Also, do you have to lose the mucus plug before labor starts or does it matter?

Thanks everyone for answering. I am new to this, is there a way for me to post a response without adding an entirely new question. I mean what if I want one of you to see what I'm saying under the same question, is that possible. Sorry for not knowing.

After I hit submit, I answered my own question! The baby is head down and still moving but not quite as much or as strongly. I am doing the kick counts though. I am so ready for her to come out!!!

The baby's movements will slow down the closer you are to delivering because the baby is bigger and has less room to move around in. Just keep count of the movements you do feel. If you go a day without feeling anything you need to contact your doctor. Plus I lost my mucus plug a month before my due date, but only because I was already dilated to a 4. But it doesn't matter if you loose it or not. Things will be ok.

its normal for you to have decreased movements actully you probably notice that it has decreased from 32 weeks compared to say 25 weeks because less and less room, but yeh as long as you are feeling movement at least 10 every 2 hrs your fine and the baby is fine. but if you feel something is wrong just give the labor ward at the hospital you are going to be going to and talk to a nurse or midwife there they will tell you and they won't have a problem with you ringing them at any hour of the day, its better safe then sorry!! Good luck with the labor!!

decreased movements can be a bad sign but if you are due to deliver in two days its probably not anything to worry about. and as far as the mucus plug i did not lose mine until i was in labor. so it could be before or after. I was in labor all day and did not know it. I thought I was having braxton hicks so I tried to sleep it off. Well the contractions woke me up. so go with your gut feeling. good luck

You might not loose your plug until you are in labor. Decreased movement will happen but not too much. You should still do kick counts. If the baby stops too much it could be a bad sign :)

a baby's movement does decrease in the last couple of weeks, mainly because he is running out of space in there. As he gets bigger, the room he has to move around in gets smaller. Also once he is in the heads down position, he stays that way til delivery.

Yes it does decrease and no you don't have to lose the plug before hand, but losing it DOES help to induce labor.

My toddler is 15 weeks previous now and that i understand from being presently pregnant that that is under no circumstances what you choose to take heed to, yet each being pregnant is SO diverse. once I hit 37 weeks pregnant I awakened each morning questioning "i won't probable be pregnant for an extra day", and that i googled my coronary heart out with each tiny little replace in my physique or how I felt. I felt an important shrink in strikes from approximately 36 weeks, on. My husband and that i even went to L&D two times because of the fact I freaked myself out approximately it a lot. each little thing grew to become into high quality and that they despatched us living house. i wanted so badly to take heed to somebody, anyone, something say "you will desire to be going into exertions contained in right here few hours!", and it purely does not artwork that way. i grew to become into SO waiting to have him. I walked (waddled) a ton contained in the previous couple of weeks in an attempt to get exertions began. Zilch. The day I grew to become 38 weeks pregnant my husband and that i had intercourse that morning (relatively the only motivation I had to have intercourse that late in my being pregnant grew to become into to aim and get exertions began) and that i began having easy, ordinary contractions. I felt relatively drained that day and spent the day at living house, laying on the settee and took a severe high quality long bubble tub that afternoon. The contractions greater in consistency by the day and that i ended up giving beginning at a million:33 am the subsequent morning. i think of that is (regrettably) authentic that the toddler won't come till he's severe high quality and "ripe" and arranged. i understand that is annoying yet carry in there! And walk your coronary heart out if it makes you sense such as you're making progression. Worst case state of affairs, you're getting workout.
