During the second world war, the Nazis had a underground messerschidt Repair Factory. It could hold over 400 boxcars and had an underground railway running from Lundwigshoffen to its location. It had twoo elevators they brought the aircraft up with and then the aircraft would be towed or taxi up to the autobaun for take off and landing. The allies had a time figuring out where these aircraft were coming from.

Sometimes, I have this fantasy where I join the Special Forces, retire, and become a hidden warrior. I go around the world and secretly assassinate the world's biggest bad guys in an attempt to promote world peace. I dream of scuba diving into Cuba and sneaking into Castro's palace and killing him. Am I crazy or what?

I support the troops 110% but the war and its cause 0. i am having second guesses about going into the reserves. I would love to still become a Marine reservist in 2 years once i get my BA in Bus. Finance. That way i could start my career and still serve my country like I always dreamed about. I could also start off at E-4. I just do not support the war at this moment. This isnt so much a question just wondering what your opinions are. Thank you!

I can't help but get annoyed everytime I see a commercial that uses that propoganda "be all that you can be" to appeal to young folks. The line tries to appeal to someone's selfishness.

Do you think that slogan (be all that you can be) is an appropiate slogan for the army? or is it just a form of propganda to get a selfish, self-centered teenager to sign up for a job that's inhernetly self-sacrificial? Should the US army find a new slogan?

How many more of our soldiers have to die at the hands of Islams before people stop glorifying their actions by calling them "insurgents", etc. instead of acknowledging that they're terrorists and not scapegoats, underrogs, heros, etc.?

I have a friend whose brother died in a military hospital in Germany. He was involved in an automobile accident. The death resulted from complications related to an infection in his leg. They amputated the wrong leg and it killed him. The doctors were negligent in their treatment. This was the explanation given to the his mom. by the base commander. She has contacted VA, base legal and numerous patient advocates with the hopes of persuing legal action.Under the Tort Claims Act of 1946, commonly known as the Feres law or the Feres doctrine, prohibits any private parties from suing the U.S. government for any torts committed by any person acting on behalf of the government. This law is to prevent people for suing from injury and death in combat. An admitted act of negligence is also protected. Is there any recourse the family may take against the government aside from negative publicity?

why did Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld claim that Iraq still had Weapons of Mass Destruction even after the UN Weapon Inspectors went into Iraq and didn't find any?, and yet we still haven't found any Weapons of Mass Destruction?, it's so stupid. Now that Rumsfeld is gone, why do Bush and Cheney still say there was a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 even after the CIA says there was no link?, why don't they just admit that the Iraq War was a Mistake and pull the damn troops out already!!!!, I can't stand the ignorant, stubborn Republicans who agree with all of Bush and Cheney's lies, and whats more surprising is that after the first Iraq War in 1991, Dick Cheney was against going into Iraq to try and remove Saddam Hussein from power, which he realized would have disastrous consequences, and he was right because we are dealing with them now, what made him change his mind?, what role does Oil play in this war?, why is Bush obsessed with it?

compare to say US or British or Australian or Israeli special forces. Ive read that Danish special forces have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Must be good enough. And that Norwegian special forces were so proficient at their duties they receieved a medal from Bush. Do you think combat missions in afghanistan show the true test of Danish and Norwegian special forces?

China is investing a great deal of money on EMP technologies and so are we. Electro Magnetic Pulse weapons theorhetically can shut down entire states, even countries electronically. Should we view them as our number ONE threat to America and our future exhistance? Or should they take a back seat to more traditional threats like nuclear or conventional arms?

This question was asked here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070830085555AAEyxHC
But I had a few more questions related to the subject:
Has anyone or does anyone know of someone who has successfully enlisted in the military as a classified 1A0 non-combatant, or recieved non-combatant status after enlisting?
If so, what MOSs/AFSCs/Ratings were available to you/them? (Medical positions are commonly mentioned, are there any others available? I'm hoping specifically for an engineering position, most likely in the Air Force.)
Does anyone have any factual or experiental data on the likelihood of being accepted or denied enlistment as a result of applying for non-combatant status, and any factors that affect that likelihood (such as recruiting needs, Active/Reserve status, ASVAB scores, stressed AFSCs, personal impressions, etc.)?
If you have personal experience with this process or know someone who does, is there any other advice you have?
Thank you for your assistance!

Why is it, with this all volunteer military, that drill instructors and others are still so mean to new recruits? I mean these people VOLUNTARILY enlisted and recruits are still yelled at and treated like garbage....are the DI's so crabby themselves that they need to get out and retire...do they need to make themselves feel special? They are nothing but bullies.

I heard media speculation that the USA DoD MAYBE announcing the deployment of a further 7000 military personnel to AFGHANISTAN next year - 2008?

I've searched online, and haven't been able to find any links supporting this speculation.

I'll be honest here, because I've become very cynical about such speculation and would love to be proven wrong after USA withdrew 77% of thier troops from AFGHANISTAN in 2003 leaving thier NATO allies sort out the chaos they left behind in the REAL SOURCE of this conflict to go into Iraq.
