You know how some countries really have funky rules. So lets say we have a base in Singapore and there for some odd reason its illegal to chew chewing gum so if a soldier does it on the base can he be prosecuted by the Singaporean government?
This is just theoretical, I just wanna know if a country's unconventional rules apply on foreign military bases

Now would it be easier to advance to an officer if you:

A.) Enlist in the military with a couple classes of RotC alongside 90 college credits already in your pocket then ask to be recommended.
B.) Take RoTC during college then grad. with a bacholar's

My recruiter mentioned that it would "prob." be easier for someone to enlist and then be promoted to Officer since they would have exp. already. Yet I don't entirely believe it. Does the first option have a high percentage?

More questions heh. I know when you join the military you can fill out a dream sheet during boot camp for all the bases you want to request (specifically I will more than likely go Air Force. But is there any way to have your first duty station be put in your contract after taking the asvabs? After doing a lot of research I would really like to be stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska, though there are a few others I am looking in to (lakenheath, Hickam). Though going security forces im sure I will end up in the middle east sooner or later. I enjoy the outdoor activities and scenery though and i've never been to Alaska so it is looking good heh. Thanks. I know a guarantee doesn't mean much in the military, but i'd rather have it in writing than not at all.

I just wanted to ask a couple more questions real fast:

- I presume the difference between enlisted work and an officer's work would be that an officer's would be more specialized than that of someone who enlists. Right?
- If you enlist and you became an officer some-way down your term would you lose those benefits you originally enlisted for? If so would they offer any compensation or new bonuses?
- Now would it be easier to advance to an officer from the military with a couple classes of RotC and 90 credits already in your pocket or if you just came out of school with your bacholar's already? (My recruiter said that he wasn't sure but he said he would presume that they would hold a preference on someone who has experience in being a soldier in addition to his desire to complete school over someone who is fresh out of college)

Thanks.

my husband is a mechanic and been in the militiary for 18 years, he is still SSG. we recently got married and i dont know that much about the military life but heard that its not quite "usual" to not have been promoted after serving that long. he said he had alwyas done a great job and loves his work, always have been appreciated by everyone for working so hard and never got in any trouble or anything. now i am not about to dig in his past to see if he ever did anything wrong, but i wonder what could be the reasons of him not being promoted if he did everything right for 18 years?

I was looking for a WW2 Poster showing the three soldiers of axis powers, with at middle the japan soldier (maybe a samurai or a kendo warrior, something like that) and at left and right the soldiers of Italy and Germany.
I saw this poster on a book some years ago, but I can't find it anymore...somebody has seen this poster ever?

I'm moving to Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan sometime in August of 2008 as a married spouse with no dependents. I'm beginning to research career and education opportunites. I'll be graduating with a bachelor's of science degree in Psychology from Wright State University in Spring of 2008. Does anyone know what kind of employment opportunites I can get with that? It could be business or psychology related. With the master's degree I'm looking to do relationship counseling or a research focus. Basically, I want to go there with a plan to keep moving forward with my life while starting our life (my soon to be husband's and mine). Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you! :)
