Wether you agree with war or not does anyone think that the great british public give our troops enough support. My son is a serving soldier in afghanistan and i personally feel that a lot of the public really dont care.

so many of this country dont care, they really have no idea what our soldiers go through, i also have a son and daughter in law serving in afghanistan we have the best army in the world and the public should stand up and show their support. I always wear a yellow ribbon in support of our troops and its disgusting how many people havent a clue what it stands for. I for one am so proud of our forces, god bless them all.

Sorry to have to say this but I live in the states and in the UK and I find it sad the way British people look at their military. They give everyone the benifit of the doubt except their military.

Remember when that one bloke faked those pictures of British troops abusing civilians? What was the result of that guys actions. He ended up getting his own show on the telly. He should have never worked again, But the british people forgave him in a blink, but if you remember right they were quick to judge and condem the military for that faked incident. I had mates that were up in arms about it and when it came out to be faked I asked them if they would take back what they said and one's reply was well no they probably did something else just as bad so its all the same

ADDITION: for the person that said "for that enemy is poverty and ignorance and not the Taliban..." I consider anyone who would hang a 15 year old child for having the wrong currency the enemy. These are people who used the local socer pitches to hold public executions. People who had people killed for wearing the wrong clothes and treat women like cattle. That is an enemy in my eyes.

By the way I speak from a Marine's perspective. I served in the US Marine Corps until I was wounded and was no longer able to serve. I gave my my body to the cuase I believe in it still. I will never walk normaly again, I will never have a day without pain. If I was given my health back today I would go right back. The thing that people dont understand is were are fighting an enemy that wouldnt allow you to disagree with the war if you were in and from their country and if you did you would pay with your life

Off course they wouldn't care, except if it were their children being sent to war, than maybe they would care...It's a pity that youths like your son should be sent to fight some phantom enemy which even as they fight grows stronger, for that enemy is poverty and ignorance and not the Taliban...
