Some young people in my town are trying to organize a protest against the wars up at a nearby city's courthouse. I've written the leader letters. They have the right, but they have no clue what they're protesting! They're just doing it following the popular "indie" kids. She's been writing that we do not pay any attention to Geneva Convention, it's only a war of aggression. I have told her she's organizing a bunch of lemmings. They're only following the others. Is there anything I can do? I'm not in the area (active duty), but I hear all about it. It really upsets me that they don't know the first thing about what's going on. I know this for a fact. All I want to do is influence people to think for themselves and form their own opinions.

as part of its 'stop loss' policy now in effect?

Section C, Para 9, subpara c states: In the event of war, my enlistment in the Armed Forces continues until six (6) months after the war ends, unless my enlistment is ended sooner by the President of the United States.

I have heard a couple of people saying there is, but I can't find any corresponding information about it on any of the Navy's websites. So, for anyone who is in the Navy, is there a banquet or something of the sort for the graduation from basic training? Thanks.

This Navy SEAL received the Medal of Honor on Oct. 11. The Ceremony is on the 22nd. Will this be on TV? I hope so, what channels? Or is it private?

Thank you and God Bless.

I am interested in joining the NAVY and I have talked to a recruiter about joining the NAVY as an enlisted and I wasn't know that with a BS degree I could join the NAVY as an officer (the OCS program) until I did some research online.

I am a permanent resident and I have already applied for U.S. citizenship. I am just waiting for the interview to become an U.S citizen. Should I wait till I get my citizenship or just join the navy as an enlisted?

I was told that there's a GPA requirement for OCS and my GPA is way too low to compete with others. Is there anyway that I can off set the low GPA ?

I want to do something relative to civil engineering. If I joined the navy would I be guaranteed that I would stay in the field of civil engineering?

What are the differences between an officer and an enlisted for a 2 year contract.

Thank you for your time !

Israeli snipers claim they killed Palestinian children by accident , I was wondering if this is even possible, I have shot rifles with a scope and have never missed by more than a few inches and I am not trained.

Note: we have a hugh military base here in Michigan and many (Most...not all) of the Military men won't eat at a restaurant owned by Arabs. (In Michigan we have over 500,000 hard working Arabs) They (Our men in the military) say they don't feel comfortable around Arabs. However, out of uniform they say they will go to a restaurant owned by Arabs. Now why is that?

They are American citizens. (18 to 23 years old) They told me (this morning) the USA has been good to them so I ask them to join the military and help President bush. They said "NO Way". One young man said he knows the war can't be won in Iraq or anywhere in the middle east. Besides, as one young man said , "I have to complete my College". Then the nice Arab people laughed at me for asking them to join the USA military.

I'm an army girlfriend & it’s been my experience that military girlfriends are not viewed very favorably, especially by military wives.

I personally have never dated anyone who is in the military before so I'm a little confused as to why that is :(

My boyfriend is in Iraq right now & I was looking for support from people who could relate to my situation. What I found where comments like "wives only", you’re only a "girlfriend" & some other snippy, unsympathetic remarks.

Your thoughts?

I've spoken to a recruiter already but I still have unanswered questions. I am 9 to 11 credits short of earning an AA and the last time I took the SAT was in 2001-2002.
I'm 23, married, with one child, but I badly want be a Naval officer. I've been told I could enlist and try to be selected for the STA-21 program, but I'd love to finish school first and then go in.
Can anyone give me additional information? Has anyone been accepted in to NROTC with previously earned college credits?

My husband and I got orders to PCS to England in March, we put in an early request for Feb so i will be in my 2nd Trimester. Today when he was going to get his medical and dental clearence they told him at so many weeks the military will not alow me (pregnant) to travel, so they may send him and not me or cancel it or just push it back until July. He can't remember how many weeks they told him. Just wondering. Thanks.

He is still in training and I'm not sure I will be able to live with him. We will have a newborn. So far I'm going to live with my parents in law back home but really want to make it happen where we could live together as a family. I have many concerns and honestly the more I think about things the more nervous I get. I have asked MANY questions about this topic so I apologize to all the people who frequent this forum and have heard many questions before. I also have read material on many different web sites focused on military issues and hear a lot about the military from my dad (a former Marine), one grandpa(a former draftee and Vietnam Veteran), and other grandpa(a former anti military draft dodger, "hippie", peace activist, etc lol lol). They fill me with stories that to be honest make me more nervous. A lot of their information is not relevant to the military today yet it churns around in my head.

Basically ive been waiting like 4 weeks for a waiver for simple possession of marijuana that happened 8 years ago to join the army. Well ive been planning to goto a college football game for like 2 weeks and have saved all my money just to be able to do so, and i really only have enough to get me there and back + food, well magically now the waiver has come through and i have to drive like 30 minutes to get to my recruiter the day i get back...well i doubt ill have the gas to get there and back and when asked if I could just be picked up he said "your not 16 anymore, when we tell you when and where, you have to be there" i mean what the heck do they do for guys that dont even have cars? I told him i'd try to save some gas which i dont think i can. I havent got a job yet because everyday my recruiter would call and say "I think its just gonna be one more day" and so on....this pisses me off, my recruiting station has the lowest numbers in the state also.

This is got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Our enemies would just laugh at us if this happened. We need to end up victorious in iraq and repealing the don't ask don't tell law is not the way to do it, in fact we need to ban homosexuals outright.

why doesn't the USA press Iraqi citizens into military service and force them to invade Iran? If they refuse to fight, they can be executed as terrorists. I know the airforce and navy are just itching to have a war of their own, but they could still participate. If they accidentally bomb our Iraqi soldiers, it's ok because they are terrorists anyway. It seems to me like this could solve a lot of problems.
