They are American citizens. (18 to 23 years old) They told me (this morning) the USA has been good to them so I ask them to join the military and help President bush. They said "NO Way". One young man said he knows the war can't be won in Iraq or anywhere in the middle east. Besides, as one young man said , "I have to complete my College". Then the nice Arab people laughed at me for asking them to join the USA military.

You can join the US Army 'til the age of 35, the USMC 'til 30 and I'm not quite sure about the USN and USAF. Anyway, you can join the army as a resident (lawful) and serve for whatever jobs don't need security clearance. It's not that there's only gonna be bad jobs for you, it's just not "high" tech ones. As you know, knowledge is power. Anyway, you would also need to be clean (as in no records or misdemeanors, although traffic tickets depend on how severe they were) and need to be drug-free. Along with no medical problems or diseases and be in physical shape (fitness and weight, based on height too).

I am a Turkish Muslim who proudly served as an combat officer in the Marine Corps during Desert Storm 1.
If I had been in the military when this last war had started I would have resigned immediately.
This war is wrong. We lost over 3,000 in 9/11 and now we have killed around 600,000 in Iraq since our invasion. Osama is evil but does not our actionas also make us evil?
We preach peace and Democracy but why are we always invading other ocuntries?

People who want to be soldiers are free to join and the military isn't forced to make soldiers out of reluctant civilians.

It is a laugh that you would ask them to do this. How do you think they would be treated in boot camp?
