Nope, at MEPS we were advised to tell the truth or else it could hurt us getting certain jobs later.

Later you will hear and experience real funny !@#$.

Enjoy!

Funy thing about the military. The liars are caught either at MEPS or after they arrive for initial military training. I served for three years at an Armed Forces Examination and Entrace Station (AFEES) in the 1960s. That's the predecessor of MEPS. You would be surprised at how many times the liars were caught. And these were guys who faced being drafted. Not enlisting voluntarily. Everything from phony letters from a doctor (one doctor lost his license over it) to wearing a truss upside down to feign having a hernia. Some were tragic. A young man who didn't know he had terminal Hodgkin's Disease because he had never had a chest x-ray before that could have told him. Another who died instantly at the lab because he had never had a needle put in his arm before and went into anaphylactic shock.
Enjoy your physical and processing.

MEPS was great for me. I was there about a totally of 2 hours compared to everyone else that had to stay longer.

The day I arrived in Basic Training, actually still being in-processed, we had this one young kid that cried constantly.

It turns out he was told to "sign here" without knowing what the document was, which resulted in him being immediately shipped out.
