Wow! Pretty precise calculations for a Google Earth view. If you can do such precise calculations, then you should know how obsolete the F-4 is. Now, getting rid of the A-10 might have been a bad idea, but you can't fly high performance aircraft forever. They've kept the B-52s flying because they are so large that their airframes can take a lot more lifetime stress.
Now, if you're commenting on how much as been spent on weapons of war, do you think that the US and USSR should have fought a nuclear war merely because of the money each side had spent on missiles?

Yes, they keep them in inventory in case they are needed. In most cases those planes will never fly again, and if they do it is to test a new weapon against. Those air craft could not stand up to modern day air combat and win. They have to be replace with newer models. The pilots who fly for the AF training cost more than the planes in most cases. They would rather buy a better aircraft than lose a pilot.

Some of those aircraft are mothballed as part of arms reduction treaties. Some could be put back into service if needed. They are placed at DM because it's dry plus it's and it's open so that the Soviets can verify through recon that we've kept our part of the bargain and downsized out inventory.

You do realize that any airplane airframe as a finite time of use??
After so many thousands of flying hours the airframe is considered non-airworthy and the plane is delegated for the scrap-heap.
Planes are not like cars.
