Going on 5 years this coming March. (USA in WW two for 39 months) A rag tag group of men with basic weapons wearing blue jeans and tennis shoes are putting the hurt on the fine American troops. Is this shocking?

Why do those pushing for troop withdrawal in the middle east try to make the allied forces look bad when they (the allied forces) claim to be making progress? If there is nothing left to do, then we can leave - If people keep saying no progress has been made, then there will always be more to do and we will never get out. If you're REALLY interested in pulling out, why work so hard at making sure we stay put?
The allied forces are much more likely to withdraw if people pat them on the back and tell them what a good and complete job they've done.

I live in Houston Texas and I often wonder how far outside the city limits is safe from a nuclear bomb. I keep thinking that one day these terrorists are going to get one through and it scares me. I currently live about 10 miles away from downtown houston. Does anyone know what I could expect if one went off?

HE also got over 3000 US soldiers killed and over 25000 crippled. HE and his buddies stole over 200 billion dollars in contracts and made hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign accounts. Is that OK with you? Now the US owes China a few hundred billion while the infrastructure in the US is NOT going to be rebuilt. How do you feel about that while you pay taxes and own just about NOTHING? Have you paid for that car, home,etc. yet?

I am 25 a male, and have had some college credits, and I have done pretty good at the ASVAB, I was wondering if anyone knows of any jobs that will allow me to be on shore most of the time? I have a 2 year old daughter and would like to spend time with her. My girlfriend has a uncle in the Navy and he was served for 14 years and he has a job where he goes home every day like a regular 9-5 job. so does anyone know of any shore duty jobs?

I know you arent allowed to take pictures of military training, vehicles, equipment etc. But today I went to the park here on post and was taking nature pictures, of the leaves changing colors and a few squirrel. I wasnt anywhere near any military equipment or anything, it was in a park. Well the m.p.'s were riding around the park and saw me. They pulled over with lights going and the whole nine yards. They asked what I was doing with a camera, I said umm taking pictures of treesand wildlife. They said I wasnt allowed and confiscated my camera, Im so upset my hubby bought me that camera for my birthday when he came home on r&r in april. I asked if there was a way I could get it back and they said no they were going to destroy it. Is there anyway I can get it back, photography is my hobby and keeps my mind off of this deployment. I went to the MP station andthey said that I was lucky I didnt get fined.

I'm American. However, I was born there and lived there until I was five years old, and I am still fluent in Russian. Two of my aunts live there, and they are helping me set up. I'm 19.
