We had a car accident and now we have to pay the deductable on the car, not within our buget right now. I called them and have an appointment and they said they needed car registration, which I cant find anywhere, do they just look at itto make sure you have it or what?

You should have had your car registration with your proof of insurance at your accident site. Most states require that you carry both in the car at all times. And yes, NMCRS needs it as proof that you own your vehicle and aren't trying to get a loan for a friends car or anything. I don't know what kind of a loan they'll give you for the deductible but they do have some new options to work with that make it very likely that they can help you.

are you wanting an emergency loan from NMCRS? they won't just give you money unless there is a true emergency like the SM pay got screwed up or there was a death in the family and you need airline fare on short notice..

You will be required to meet with them and possible attend a budgeting class before they will give you any funds.. because they will NOT give you the money if you have been foolish with your spending. Maxing out credit cards will not be an excuse to get a loan from NMCRS.

If you need help, go to NMCRS and tell them about it. They will ask you questions about how much you make and how much you spend on everything. They helped me out a lot when I was in the Navy. It is usually for emergencies only, but it never hurts to try.

You will have to take the estimates in to them and I am sure you will have to have an LES with you. You may need more documents I am not sure but then they will cut the check directly to the payee not you, and then they set up a payment plan and have the money deducted from your check until it is paid off.
