oh its happening already,and lord help anyone that spits on me,course the good lord wouldn't come to their aid because they both don't deserve it,or believe in him. you want to call bush a deserter, but you forget that clinton RAN to canada,so hes a draft dodger,also that drunkard ted kennedy showed that bush was getting paid during the "absence", know what that means,bush was where he was supposed to be,on loan to a unit that was preparing to go over. kerry should have been shot and killed by out troops before he ever couldve joined up with fonda,and spread his outright lies before congress. while traveling with fonda he met with the viet cong leaders,and his picture graces the viet cong hall of fame.never mind that kerry made a habit of disobeying orders,or that he wanted his purple hearts from the navy so that he could go home,go to the local store on post,buy a duplicate set of medals,and throw them over the wall. his reason for joining the navy is because he needed something thatd look good on his political resume,and the navy didnt draft,and had a lower probability of direct conflict. also kerry took simple and easy classes in college,ans barely passed them.bush took difficult classes,and maintained a high gpa.note how quickly bush revealed his transcripts while kerry delayed,and delayed,and delayed.also are you aware that the state of arkansas has forbade clinton from practicing law due to corruption. now i tell you, on tuesday,the 11th, i will be at the local freedom walk here,and several other veterans, mainly from vietnam,and iraq are marching with me,all in support of our troops,and our cause. and if you dare spit on me,i will beat the **** out of you as i would a terrorist,because in my mind,you are one and the same

To those who say they kill women and children, it's usually an accident. More women and children are killed by the suicide bombers than our military. anybody spitting on troops because they fought a war you didn't agree with is a damn traitor and should be thrown in jail. your country is fast becoming like my country canada, filled with a bunch of wussies that think you can have a cup of tea with these assholes and make peace. chamberlain tried it with hitler and you see what happened.so get a grip, war is ugly but needed sometimes. and for those whining about their kids coming home in a box, it was fine to be in the service to get a free education, but when it comes down to paying for it by defending your country its another story. for all the troops from every country stay safe and keep up the great work, because we need you to keep the wussies safe so they can keep their freedom of speech etc...

okay I hope no one does that in my view. I am a military wife. And by the way to all you kerry defineders...you need to go look at what he said. He never said anything about the president until he was called out for saying that the military was stupid. you people need to find a day job that gives you a mind to think with. Hi, just so you know...I actually marched against the war in the 70's, & I didn't vote for any of the war makers. BUT, the guys & girls serving over there are just doing the job they have been given. I have the deepest respect for the soldiers who protect our freedom. Don't label all Democrats, I hate the war makers, not the soldiers who bear it all out.

So lets be very clear here .The Vietnam War was a crime against humanity in which the troops themselves were on the verge of revolt.

Now to the "spitting".

First ,this was NOT wide spread and if you think it was,YOU need to offer evidence to support your claim.

At some point soldiers MUST make a profound moral/ethical judgement/decision as to the war they are fighting .As Neurenburg taught us ," I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS " is NOT acceptable defence for crimes against humanity/

Whether YOU or anyone else refuses to accept the fact that the Vietnam War was a crime against humanity does not alter the fact that most jurists believe it was.

Given all this and given the fact that these soldiers were involved in a crime against humanity,I can fully understand how moral individuals demonstrating against the Vietnam War could easily take out their moral outrage over the Vietnam obscenity by spitting on soldiers .

Many were so moralyl offended by the Vietnam War atrocity that they either fled the US or as the articles posted attest to,deserted the military RIGHTLY refusing to be a part of a crime against humanity.

These were hard decisions taken by these soldiers for the moral stand they took but they were crapped upon by all those that are best described by Samuel Johnson's famous citation:

Had German Soldiers made the same moral decisions,the world and millions of humans would have been much better off and alive.
