Do we owe any allegiance to England now ? They were more than happy to have the AIF & 2nd AIF doing their fighting in France, Africa and Gallipoli. But the moment Australia was threatened directly by Japan and bombed in Darwin, they refused to release our troops from fighting for them ! That left our National Guard and Militia between us and the Japs after the fall of Singapore before the US troops arrived after Pearl Harbour was bombed. Eventually our 2nd AIF was released from Africa to come to their Nations defence in New Gunea.

Knowing that the English thought we were "expendible" especially after our sacrifices for them in Europe and Africa, due we owe them any allegiance now ?????????????????

I just read a census that stated people still think that Iraq started the war with us first. Which of course is not the case.
Why does America seem to be so far behind when it comes down to self-education and knowng happening in the world around you.

As a sparsely populated country, well actually 21 Million people in a land mass the size of the USA. Will anyone attempt a land invasion here ? Indonesia would seem to be the only threat, but even with the Worlds Largest Muslim population, they couldn't afford to keep a War Plane in the sky long enough to reach Australian soil ! Especially without our immense amount of foreign Aid. Given our rugged terrain and the location of the majority of our defences in the Northern Territory, will anyone attempt a land Invasion or air strike again here ?

Ten miles off of our shores, and I heard it was legal for them to get this close to our shores, then why aren't we doing more to change international laws so that our country can be protected? It seems as if the big shots in the White House are not even interested in protecting the American people! I have heard that this technology has the ability to knock out the power for a long time coast to coast. Is this true?

It seems to me PJs are underrated. Not that they need attention and what not but if I went up to a 7 year old boy and said "What's a Navy SEAL" He'll tell me something. If I ask him "What's a USAF Pararescue" He'll stare at me.

In my opinion it is the hardest job to have and the most important. Without them all those downed SEALs would be dead. Their training is HARDER!

Don't you think they should make a movie for these bad***es???

I'm a 19 year old female was considering enlisting, either active or reserve. I want to serve my country and I always do a job the best I can and have good integrety, and love physical challenges, but I'm worried about the people. So I'm definately not a partier, still a virgin, and don't use rough language, I guess I could be considered really innocent. I love people and always try to get along with everyone but Im just worried about things I've heard. I've heard multiple times from some of my friends her served that there's constantly parties, and alot of that pressure and that there are alot of rape cases. I want to enlist but I'm worried I guess. Will it be hard for my type? Does anyone have any thoughts?

In my opinion, piecing together the news from different mediums, it seems that Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea are sitting back and awaiting the time when the terrorists have stretched our resources thin, so they can move in for the kill. I have noticed that Russia has been quietly making the move back towards communism and their "glory days" of the USSR, and keeping close ties to China, North Korea, and Iran. They have thumbed their noses at the world community more than once and have done absolutely nothing, actually quite the opposite of helping (supplied technology and even arguably military equipment) , with the war on global terrorism. What do you guys think?

If an issue is worth going to war over, it should be important enough to set aside your humanity, do WHATEVER is necessary to win quickly, and get it over with because "civilized" wars always last longer and cause more death, destruction, and suffering than ones fought brutally and briefly.

I was wondering how long and often Air Force deployments really are. I have read through the questions already asked about this and it seems everyone has a different answer. My recruiter said there are 10 groups that rotate, so that deployments are only 4-6 months long I think he said every two yrs. But then I talk to some people and they say it depends on your job, and that they only deploy who they need. So I was wondering does anyone know?

A judge can't give you the choice of the Marine Corps or jail time. The Marine Corps doesn't seek out scumbags. These ******* who claim they were forced in by a judge are trying to look like James Dean or some ****. It's the U.S. Marine Corps, in which I proudly served it's not the French Foreign Legion you douche bags!

I have had several questions the I have asked about joining and the majority had at least one or two people writing in caps saying don't join.

Do they think they are saving lives?

My grandfather served in the Korean War and my great-grandfather in WWI. Why do they object to serving my nation proudly?

Anyways the don't convince me and, I still plan on joining. What do you think?
