That is the big question , i see nothing positive being gained what so ever..in my opinion staying the course is the only viable alternative. To do otherwise is a statement of defeat dont these Senators know how their political posterizing effects the morale of the Troops. Or do they even care is the big question i guess.

I am joining the British army and my careers instructor has told me that they would prefer it if i could do chin ups by the time i join.

I will need to do at least a couple by the time i pass out but it would make my life easier if i could do them before.

Any tips from ex-forces????

My husband is active military. His credit is ok, and he has little to no debt in his name. Most of our debts is in my name only.
Can I file for bankruptcy (chapter 13) in just my name? Will it affect him?

I have noticed lately that a lot of unfriendliness has been going on between the Brits and the Russians. If Britain goes to war with Russia, would the US help britain???/

Just curious because it seems recruitment is done mainly in poorer areas.

Maybe i'm wrong. Does the military also recruit in the suburbs and richer areas.

And how many of the wealthy or well to do are actually in the military if you had to guess. I mean, actually fighting currently or currently enlisted.

He really wants to stay in the military and I've heard that the Army has of the Blue to Green program. How likely is it he can go from the AF to the Army or for that matter the Navy or Marines? He has just over 4 years of service.

I had this question removed.. anyone tell me why?

"What’s happened to our Forces?"
ok, so here is my latest grumble...
Scene 1: Your 16, leaving school, what shall i do? I know, join the Forces so I can serve my Country, Queen and defend the nation, or die trying.
Scene 2:"Men, we've got terrorist’s to go get, need you to go to Iraq/Afghanistan, pack your stuff"
Scene 3:**News Bulletin** “There's never been so many resignations in the Forces before”

Anyone else see what’s wrong with this picture??

They sign up, get the training (and most probably the girls) then one day they have to actually do something to defend our great nations.

And they all run like girls!!

Why join the forces if your not willing to actually defend the country when we need it most?

Why moan and complain when your job IS to go to these countries... you job IS to police other countries... Your job IS to be in the line of fire....

Oh, I’m sorry… did they not tell you that when you signed up?

Hello there, I am 21 and about to go off to Cranwell, where I want to become a Supply Officer.

I have always wanted the soldiering life but have bad eyesight so have had to do the best I can with Supply. However I am now aware that our wars are no longer fought for Queen and country but rather greedy politicians, and that the wars at the moment have little bearing on the people on the UK.

Were I to give up the RAF in 6 years and get a job on civvy street, I want to have had the time of my life. I do not want innocent blood on my hands, or even that of men just trying to defend their own country. But I want to have a soldier's life.

I am tearing up inside- what should I do?

Thanks for all serious answers

OK... Here's my story. I've wanted to be a Marine ever since I can remember. The conflict is I had childhood asthma (a disqualifying factor at meps). I haven't displayed any symptoms since 2004. Which would still be disqualifying because it was after my 13th B-Day. I am 20 years old. I contacted a recruiter and he advised me to not mention it to MEPS. I did some research and it seems recruiters do this often for various reasons. He said that I cannot get in trouble and if something happens I'll get a medical discharge. He also said that MEPS would DQ me forever if I told them about it. My figuring is that I'd like to attempt to accomplish my dream. It may sound selfish, but I'd like to do this. I just want my chance. Is the recruiter being truthful? What's your opinion? And has anyone been in similar situations? Thanks and Bless you all.
