Yes there is.

You will have to submit a packet to get accepted into flight school anyway, before OCS.

And have a pass a flight physical.

So you would know if you had a flight school slot, before going to OCS.

But you have to realize, if you fail flight school, you still owe the Air Force 4 to 8 years of service as an officer.

And about civilian flight experience.

Yes it plays an important role in getting accepted into flight school.

After all, the flight school acceptance boards are trying to find the best candidates who show an amplitude for being a pilot.

nope. for one, the physical standards for Aviation are more stringent that regular standards. Your status as a civilian pilot will have absolutely zero bearing, and may in fact hurt your chances of being picked up, as you would need to unlearn the civilian ways and be retaught military methods.

Officers are only guaneteed a Commission, not a specialty.

No way to guarantee it. I knew a couple of people who had commercial pilots licenses but still couldn't swing a pilot slot.

Seals and spec ops are no longer cool jobs and neither is grasp at palms (police guy) you go with a funky job - Volunteer for Submarine duty. there's no longer something better than sitting on the administration panel of a submairne and flying it contained in the time of the water at 40 knots.
