Who's paying for the war?. It is the taxpayer's money. Unfortunately, the taxpayer's money isn't enough to cover all of the war's cost (other government projects need money too including health care, education, welfare, etc.). Because the government had been overspending more than the tax it collected, then we have what we call budget-deficit. To cover up this deficit, we have to borrow foreign money. The budget deficit is now in several trillions of dollars. Most of it is covered by China so far. So we owe China trillions of dollars.

According to this website that keeps a running tally, the total is 444 billion. This works out to approximately $200 million a day, which is roughly the GDP of Nigeria. If you check out the first link below you can select your state and see what share of the burden each state has paid out of the $444 billion. There are estimates that by the end of the year the war in Iraq will have surpassed the expenses of the Vietnam war ($650 billion) and some estimate that by time the war is over it will have cost $1 trillion.

All of this comes from hardworking taxpayers pockets and goes right into the big defence contractors pockets. It is estimated that 1 in every 4 dollars the Pentagon spends on the war goes to the big 3 defence contractors--Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Northrop Grumman. So they have racked up about $100 billion since the start of the war!

Taxpayers are paying for the war. There are a lot of things not happening developmentally because of this war. Not to mention that only 30% of us citizens support the war now. About a half trillion has been spent so far. And I think the death toll is about 3600 for Americans. I know for their citizens and insurgents we are approaching well over a half million people dead and at least double that wounded. I think we Americans are approaching 20,000 wounded though.

Tax payers and the government are paying for it. Mostly the tax payers. The amount of money we've spent doesn't really matter, just know that we are billions of dollars in debt. As for death toll, do you mean just for American soldiers? If you meant in all, I couldn't tell you. The government has made no attempt to keep record of the hundreds of thousands of civilians that have died. A certain medical journal estimates the real number to be closer to 650,000 deaths. As for our own deaths, it's something like 3,000 or so. Look at this video for more information: http://www.pinkyshow.org/archives/episodes/070525/

Mostly the people of Iraq are paying for that war- with blood. That is the price for decades of tolerating tyranny in the middle east and the cost is much higher due to the actions of the "peaceniks" who have persuaded a bunch of non-Iraqui Jihadi nutcases that they can actually conquer Iraq - with the tacit support of some very short-sighted US politicians.

We all pay and until Forgive Affirmed Spirit becomes a religion for all of us or weapons that don't kill become the mainstay of the military. Hopefully religion and technology will become more friendly. I think over 3000 Americans have died and many more Iraqis and many more wounded for life.

May the Force of Caring cause us all the necessary conflict to cause us to come to Forgive Affirmed Spirit and it's healing as our answer to our problems.

paying - we all are - assuming you pay taxes - the bad part is that the military is taking funds from all over to pay for it - the development of new weapons systems is being curtailed which is going to hurt us in the long run

amount - i'm not sure easily in the tens of billions i think

died - unfortunately we are at around 3000
