My dad was in the Air Force until they made him retire because he had arthritis. My friend said that the military will pay for a military veteran's kid's college tuition.... Is that true?

Does anyone know anything about the CIA being sent in at the end of the Vietnam War to kill Army Rangers / Elite Forces/ Military people etc.. that had either been part of something the government wanted to hide or for other reasons.

i want to join the marine corps but i don't want fighting and killing, either going to Iraq. i just want to travel around the world, go to other countries. What MOS should i take? like what should i do? thanks

Will the commission be a "active reservist commission" or a standard active duty commission just like one would recieve out of OCS or the Naval Academy?
The reason I am asking is that I have a NROTC scholarship and am wondering how that will affect my commision upon graduation.

Well I will take advance math classes but not as advance as some of the other people at the high school also if you dont take like geometry your freshman year but someone does does it hurt your rank even if you make like a 98 but they make like a 70?

I am still in high school; however, I'm intrested in joining the U.S. Military. I am curious as to which one I should look into, and how to tell my parents (they don't seen to take me seriously when I mention the subject). I feel as if I could succeed in any branch, I love the water, I love speed, and I'm not afraid combat. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I can't decide which branch to choose from. I really don't want to end up in Iraq but I know there is a possibility I might end up their. Both Branches offer a career that I am currently interested in but I can't make that final decision. Like I said don't want to end up in Iraq. Plz give you thoughts!

I have a new friendship with a (Army) soldier that I would love to nurture and see blossom.
I feel that I am strong enough to be a warrior's woman, traditional and old-fashioned.
So...what type of support do you like to hear when your training or deployed?
What keeps it fresh and strong for you?
When he's not working in the field, we have nightly conversations and phone sex, and I always try to incorporate new situations to try when he returns to me...
But what other things can I do for my soldier currently 600 miles away from me?, and then in the fall he'll be deployed (3rd tour) for 15 months...please help and thank you for your time - and of course - your service to God and Country!

I am in no way saying that soldiers are not brave, but on commercials, they tell us that soldiers are dying for our freedom. I hate to break it to you, but no soldier has died for America's freedom since WWII. My brother is in the marines, and he agree's with me. He dosen't think we should be over there saying we are fighting for our freedom, because it's just a bumper sticker slogan.

How many leave days are allowed when a soldier comes back from a 15 month deployment? Does it all depend on how many days they earned and do they subtract mid tour leave from total amount of days earned? I am just curious...trying to plan a vacation with my soldier!

When is OK to say: " Let themselves take care of themselves and keep hands off...... blah blah blah..."
and When is OK to say: Let's go to war, send our troops and bomb and invade civilian areas, like in Irak ?

Thanks to the weapons we gave Israel, they feel they can fight any war themselves, but should we do the same with other counrtries? Give them Weapons of Mass destruction?

I know several people that earned an other-than-honorable
A few that deserved and got Bad Conduct discharges! (Drug Distrubtion!)
And one dude that rightfully earned 7 years in Leavenworth and Dishonorable Discharge (in 1999, He stabbed some guy once in the chest, but didn't kill him, the offender, got in a drunken fight, got beat-up, came back with a knife and stabbed the dude that beat him up.) He is out now and returned to the neighborhood!
