F***k YOU! you agree to sending young kids half way across the world to do your party's dirty work! If you believe so much in the war, put a vest on, grab a rifle, and go over there and help them out!

If you serverd in any branch of the military, RIGHT ON! I'm not talkin' s**** on anyone who served, i'm talkin' about people that are HERE who WON'T serve. If you believe so much in this war, get over there already, and stop trying to justify not going!

I agree with you. Too many armchair QB's who have never been in combat, much less lift a finger to serve, in fact they won't lift a finger and tell their representatives to put the $100 Billion that Bush cut out of the VA Hospitals budget back, while giving tax cuts to the rich! The VA is only treating 105,000 Iraqi Vets!
Yes. parents have no influence over their kids. What a rationalization. One of the worst I have ever heard!
Flyfinger, What freedom are we protecting? Bushes attack on the US Constitution? The elimination of habeas corpus and 4 of the first 6 Amendments. Or are we defending the 600 concentration camps that Bush is building across America? P;ease get real!

well im sure the army wants abunch of parents carring rifles that are over 40 years old the oldest a person can enlist into the army i believe is 24 years old. can you imagine a bunch of geezers runing our army we wouldnt be where we are today if some 40year old could just sign up.
you make it sound like they made there kids join the military. reality check you have to be 18 to sign the contract. no one made or sent them to do anything they didnt already sign up for.
and if your child is 18 there legaly an adult means parents can voice there opinions but that legal adult can do whatever they want to do including joining the army. if i had a child that told me they wanted to join the military and serve our great country i would be proud of them wouldnt you if you had a child that wanted to serve our country
didnt your parents ever tell you that using foul language is terrible and only shows how igornant you really are in the end there are many other better words to use besides a four lettred foul word.

Someone at some point in time is going to have to draw the line in the sand. It might be a Democrat, I doubt it but maybe, or it might be a Republican or whoever but it will have to be someone and that is a fact. If you are too much of a coward to step up and defend that line they back away and let someone take your place. Freedom is not free even for people like you there is a price so just thank the people that defend your right to be a freedom leech and go live your cowardly little life.

A soldier is a soldier. I don't ever recall being asked to defend my party. If memory serves me correctly, I was asked to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...and to obey the orders of those (appointed over me).
Last time I checked, there have been Republican and Democratic Commanders in Chief. In fact, I recall an Army reinforcing its view that its commanders are civilians, not necessarily Republicans or Democrats. Even today, Defense Secretary Gates affirmed this position.
It rather sickens me to think that some of you feel that only Republicans have a lock on patriotism. Or that a Democrat must therefore be a traitor. A lot of my Democratic and Republican friends are dead and even more no longer have their legs.
To the a$$hole who asked the question, I return equal scorn to you. To the other shallow bastards who responded with about as much depth as a piece of paper, I pray you never feel steel rip into your thigh. Soldiers fight for our buddies. That is it. We don't bleed politics.
Most of you writing, I suspect, have never bothered to wear a uniform. You don't know what it means to suffer, to fight to complete a mission so your Democratic and Republican, conservative and liberal friends all might live another day.
Regards

Nice point. I agree with you.
Roughly 3 MILLION conservatives of fighting age are living in America right now. Our troops are going back for 3rd and 4th tours because we don't have enough of them to go around. Yet a whole lot of conservatives stay here and TALK.
Isn't the best way to support the troops by joining them on the front lines?

OK first off I wouldn't give you the time place or pleasure. Second off it's not like were asking YOU to go and fight for AMERICA. So what's your problem. If you are in the military fighting is what you do. I have a question for you. Who do you think serves in the military? Peacenik hippie liberal Democrats like yourself? I would say they are about 80% to 90% Republican.

I've already done my combat turn. Why? Because I am a citizen of the united States and I did my duty. I did not get to chose my battles and I didn't even like President Clinton. I still took his orders and went where he sent me to enforce his policies. I did it proudly because that's what service people do.
YOU. You are just a noisy idiot without the courage to step up to your duty. You hide behind your political views in an effort to mask your cowardice. You sit in anonymity on the net pretending to be so brave yet you hide behind your avatar hurling insults at your betters. Sleep well in your bed, safe in the freedom we paid for.

Perhaps we have over-estimated the Islamic ideology of hatred and domination and their stated objectives to convert or kill all who question their beliefs.
Even if this is true, and I seriously doubt it, it would be far, far better than those of you who have under-estimated it.
Perhaps your question would be better received if you refrained from assuming all republicans who support this war are not already veterans or that all of them are physically able to enlist - your question should be targeted only to those capable and able to fight but refuse to - and, believe me, those aren't majority republicans.

Where on earth is this coming from? We have a 100% volunteer military so what "kids" are you talking about? The overwhelming majority of our troops understand wholeheartedly the importance of completing the mission, a concept the ignorant such as yourself fail to understand. You should work on your rants. Class up a little if you know what I mean.
