In essence, I would miss the date of my test. But am I allowed to take my advancement test elsewhere, like a MEPS or recruiter's office? It isn't emergency leave, TAD, or Deployment, just plain old, "I wanna go on Vacation leave."

Most experts regard the British SAS to be the most elite all round special forces unit yet they (the Birtish SAS) admit that there smaller commonwealth cousins special forces are easily just as good if not better e.g. The New Zealand NZSAS whom a tiny force of just 160men have been believed to be resposible for capturing or killing up to 2000 Al Queada in Afganistan with no casualties and only 2 woundings or the Australian SASR whose desert fighting skills are so highly recognised among the SEALS and Delta Force in Iraq. Is it that all these units are at such a high level of expertise in what they do that basically you can't get any better and so for the bigger units are the ones whom get the recognition?

I was looking at the Navy and Air Force to go OCS but they have tried to get me to go enlisted and get a commission, I am not going to do that. I am 26 years old, have Purdue degree in TV/Radio, starting to possibly consider Army to get an officer position, maybe in the Reserves. I want to go back to school and get my Master's (I go for free regardless if I join the military--dad is disabled vet). What would be best if I was looking to be Public Affairs Officer? Army? Then, Active Duty or Reserved?

I plan on divorce. I talked to his 1st SG who did not help and they advise me to talk to JAG. the proof i have is the calls made on the cell phone record, and the bank statement showing huge charges on the same day/night. but the charges are discreet. they exceed $300.00 so should be credible enough. Is this enough evidence and does anyone have some advise?

I'm sort of confused on elistment in the Navy. Is it 2 years active duty, then another 2 inactive- in which I really don't do anything but be available if they need more soldiers? During the 2 inactive years will I have to attend meetings of some sort as well as keep my hair short? Yes, I should talk to a recruiter but everybody says they don't always tell the truth.
Thanks in advance.

My daughter is in D.C. for Presidential Classroom Scholars Program. The group is visiting Arlington National Cemetary Friday. When asked yesterday if any of the students were interested in placing the wreath at the Tomb she raised her hand, along with 10 others. The adult leaders in the group decided to be fair, the students that wanted to participate should write a paper expressing their reasons for wanting to place the wreath. My daughter's paper indicated her reasons included the recent death of her Dad, a retired military man, and wanting to honor his memory knowing how proud he would be of her. (this means so much to her) In any event - her paper was selected - it was read to the others, received a standing ovation, the attendees were moved to tears. Is there anything she needs to know as far as what is appropriate or not appropriate to do after she places the wreath? Will they tell her? Suggestions please! I didn't realize that people other than "dignitaries" could do this! WOW

Its particularly annoying from those conservatives who, instead of answering a question, ask one.
They should be barred from yahooanswers as trolls.

Or maybe yahooanswers could give us participants the option of automatically filtering rejecting/deleting all answers from anyone who doesn't allow email response, if we so choose. I know I would.

I constantly get asked rhetorical, irrelevant, often stupid question, am called insulting names or incorrectly quoted etc. by such GOP trolls, (none of which I mind at all) except that I find it very annoying not being able to respond.

Just watch. I'll get ten stupid answers from these dolts telling me its because they don't want to get stupid answers from people like me.

Regardless of what people thought before the invasion. Didn't it the facts turn out that Iraq:
Had no navy.
No air force
No WMDs
No nukes.
and their military disappeared into a sandstorm in one weak after killing what 25 Americans?, 16 in a helicopter "crash".

They had no defense at all. the USA occupied Iraq in two weeks without losing hardly a man.....

...and now 4+ years later Bush and the most powerful military in human history still cannot defeat and subdue them.

Isn't there something wrong with this picture?

I'm looking into becoming a CTI in the Navy after I graduate. I didn't think I'd have any problem with the security clearance, my family is super patriotic, my legal record is crystal clear... I've never had detention, a speeding ticket, anything. But later I heard that if you'd been in the Peace Corps it was disqualifying, I've never been in the Peace Corps, but my sister is adopted from Guatemala... could this be a setback too?

thanks for answering : )
