FIRST OF ALL, wearing a 50 lb body armor, carrying more ammo than medic supplies, and shooting from a distance, IS NOT A GREAT COMBAT SOLDIERS. This is considered a coward in some part of the world. A real soldier carrying NO BODY armor, he fights and fights shooting from a short range and entering enemies territory by FOOT, and showing the enemy that your victory is not made easy by your equipment, but by your braveness, tactical, training and strength, and skills. This will show the enemy you are a resilient and with or without an "advaced" equipment you can stop them.

First of all, there is no 'regular' combat soldier.
Having said that, the Israeli Defense Forces, being that they have been fighting since 1947, have the best Soldiers for Urban Terrain and fighting in unconventional warfare. Right after them would be the British Royal Marines who had so much experience in Northern Ireland.
Heroism: British Gurkha's. These Nepalese fighters have strength and valor like none other. They are perhaps the fiercest on the planet.
Grit: Republic of Korea Marines. Their training regimen is wicked tough, and they are all trained in Martial Arts. They are also staring down one of the largest Armies in the world, the North Koreans.
Training and Equipment; US Army Rangers. They are trained in Airborne, MOUT, Air Mobile, Counter Insurgency, Mechanized Infantry, etc.
Jungle and Desert Ops; French Foreign Legion. While many will say these are Mercenaries for the French, so too are the Gurkha's for the British. They have a long history of working at outposts at the far reaches of the empire, fighting against incredible odds (and unfortunately, usually losing).
And of course the catchall for all environments, training, equipment, experience, would be US Marines. Everyone in the corps is a rifleman. Their advanced infantry school is a model used by most major armed services around the world.

I would have to say the Army since I served almost 27 years with the best trained individuals in the world. As far as equipment, I think the army and marines have about the same.

Snipers don't have interaction in open wrestle like foot infantrymen. They use stealth and concealment to make each shot count quantity. If available they're attempting to shoot the officers and radiomen first, then they attempt to p.c.. off the the rest infantrymen. at cases they're given assignments to take out a particular universal or useful enemy assett. at cases they are going to supply disguise for an get right of entry to group. Snipers grants useful intelligience to field leaders.

with ALL the combat experience accumulated with the wars in iraq and Afghanistan I think our guys are second to none!
training is part of making a good soldier, but nothing can replace the knowledge gained by BEEN in actual combat over and over again!..like our guys are experiencing today.

As far as conventional forces go, either 82nd Airborne or the Marines.
Rangers are considered to be Special Operations.

Any private company that provides 'security.' They have an incentive to make money and keep their trained employees alive. The govt just has a bunch of easily replaceable people.

I want the Israelis to rescue me. After them it would be some Euro nation like France or Germany.
I wouldn't mess with some of the African nations either.

I'd say the Turks or the South Koreans. Almost all of their marines are black belts!
