In essence, I would miss the date of my test. But am I allowed to take my advancement test elsewhere, like a MEPS or recruiter's office? It isn't emergency leave, TAD, or Deployment, just plain old, "I wanna go on Vacation leave."

A friend of mine was on leave during his advancement exam, and was able to take it on a base near where he was on vacation. Just make sure to ask about this ahead of time so they will be sure to have a copy on hand for you. I don't think it would be too much trouble.

NO. You are not allowed to miss your advancement exam day. Maybe you should though, seems like you are ready for the next paygrade. You are not authorized to take your exam anywhere except where your command is giving the exam that day. And no you cannot take a late exam so do not ask that question next.

no you can't miss your advancement test. and besides the tests are only given twice a year, in march and september. plan your "plain old" leave around it. unless the other 363 days of the year aren't good enough for you to take leave.
