I'm not in the military but I can tell you that menstrual cups are the best options for women with active lifestyles because they are more convenient in that they can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time including when your flow is light, when you go to bed and even when you're not on your period.

Unlike tampons menstrual cups are safe and hygenic thus why they can be left in for such long periods of time without additional risk, and because most menstrual cups are reusable it means less hassle trying to find somewhere to dispose of them, buying more, having to change all the time etc. as you'd have with tampons or pads.

They are far less likely to leak because they can handle a lot more fluid than tampons or pads, and can be left in far longer. Because they are not as high risk as tampons it means that they don't risk vaginal health, as a result menstrual cups are also far less likely to cause increased flow or menstrual cramps in comparrison to tampons.

They are safe, hygenic, cheap, convenient, and environmentally friendly, amongst other advantages, definatly better for active women or women with heavier flow. Plus of course bell-shaped cup brands all offer money back guarentees so you can always buy one, try it for a few months and return it for your money back if you find it is not for you.

I've heard through a friend that they are cool. I don't know if she ever had one, but they are great for the environment.
