BAGHDAD - Seven U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi army interpreter came under attack Saturday morning during a patrol in a Sunni insurgent stronghold south of Baghdad, leaving five americans troops dead and three missing, the military said.

Troops were searching for the three missing, using drone planes, due to the Marines being a little aftaid of the insurgents, jets and checkpoints throughout the area, according to the statement. Soldiers were also asking local leaders for information. The local leaders refused to talk to the USA military. it appears to be a lost cause for the USA. This war could end up like another Vietnam.

My husband retired years ago, and I am really out of the loop. I do a mega-shop at the commissary every few months. I want to tip fairly generously, but I don't know what a good tip is nowadays.

I'd like to hear from both shoppers who are in the loop and from baggers. Thanks!

Don't you wake up some day's and wish that you could slap the faces right off the ignorant people on this forum?? wouldn't it just be a hoot to be able to do that?? Just once, just for the hell of it.

And if you could use something other than your hand to do it, what would you choose??

I would pick a wet towel..

She asked a question and reading the responses I was amazed at how many folks seemed to either not know what she did or not care any more. Some of them with screen names that reflect associations with the military. I am all about speaking out and up when your country is doing something that is against what you believe but understand, it is the men and women in uniform that have given us that right and freedom. THEY are NEVER to be disrespected or treated with anything other than reverence. Shame on you Jane and shame on some Americans for having such a short memory.

I see fat people in the service all the time. People with bad eyes, people that are extremely stupid. I'm in perfect health, and am now a successful, well adapted professional. But a few years ago (it is still the same) when I considered joining the armed forces I realized I could never join because I take Adderall. Why?

OK I have this M10M Czechoslovakian gas mask and I have herd that it has a shelf life and is obsolete but the place where I got it from “Cheaper than dirt” says it will protect me against all types of gas attacks- I have used it and tried to smell objects with it, stuff like gasoline and superglue and I haven’t smelled the gas or anything when doing it but when I took it off I immediately smelled every thing, so would that work and does it have a shelf life?

This problem is exacerbated by the increasing number of National Guard members being deployed, and by the higher rate of divorce among military personnelle. Since the National Guard members tend to be older the are much more likely to have children, spouses, and ex-spouses, they are particularly vulnerable. I think this is a tough subject...who's right and who's wrong? Should the military spouse be penalized for doing their duty?
