Depends on his job I would say. If he is in a critical rate his chances are better. But if thats not the case, the chances are slim to none!

Well, you might not think what he did was "heinous" but it was, nonetheless. The military has very strict rules about the use of computers and the material you download. This refers not only to the military computers but your personal ones also. The military is NOT like the civilian world.....

If he was in the Navy for 6 years, he was fully aware of what is expected of him....he also knows what he did was wrong, wrong, wrong.

And no, he can no longer serve in the military-not in the U.S. I'm surprised he got a General Discharge. When someone serves time for a felony, it is usually a Dishonorable. They gave him a break so he can at least find a job once he gets out of the brig.

Pornography on the Internet is a very dangerous thing to be messing around with. He knows that - or should have. Tell him next time he wants to see naked women exposing themselves, buy Hustler magazine.....

Assuming the legal happens in civilian jurisdiction they are going to bypass to civilian courtroom on the value. If convicted the protection tension convenes an administrative panel which oftentimes recommends that the member is discharged with an undesirable discharge. If the legal is protection tension in nature, the member will look by fact the defendant in a particular or regular courtroom Martial. If convicted in a particular courtroom Martial the member can get carry of a bad habit discharge as nicely to imprisonment, relief in rank and/or forfeiture of all will pay and allowances. A regular courtroom Martial, as nicely to imprisonment, relief in rank and/or forfeiture of all will pay and allowances can award a Dishonorable Discharge.

No. Not even the Army.

What I'm amazed at is why the Navy didn't give him at least a BCD for something as heinous as what he's serving time for. And you want to marry this guy?

Tell him to give it up.

EDIT: He pled GUILTY. Of course we're going to judge him, and those of us in uniform (and those out) have every right to, no matter what you think. If he downloaded those pics onto a work computer, it's inexcusable. If he did it to a personal computer and got caught with child pornography, that's the end of it. He's done.

nope he has an RE4 and ANY crime involving Porn is a No go for any and all Branches of service. He is toast.

he screwed up, now he gets tolive with the consequences.

BTW, he may also be screwed when it comes to any type of Federal or government work, because they do know what an RE 4 means.

Depends on his RE code at the bottom of his DD-214. If it is a RE-4, then he can't re-enlist in any branch of the service without an Exception to Policy waiver.

Was his GD under honorable conditions or was it an OTH (Other Than Honorable)? If it was OTH, then he can't re-enlist ever.

His Military career is over, finished, kaput, he knows right from wrong and he made the choice and now has to live with it.But with general discharge he still has benefits that he can use to buy a house, borrow money for a business,go to school and a few others.I suggest you take advantage of them.

Since your husband was convicted, he is not allowed to re-enlist. The military does not allow any convicted fellons.

Better tell him to register as a sex offender if he hasn't already.

Have you seen what society does to ex-con's convicted of sex crimes? They become outcasts. No business will hire them.

With that in mind, I highly doubt any military branch would accept him.
