It is up to you to provide any information, but DO NOT LIE!!!! Chances are that any waiver you need will be approved, but if you lie and are caught ..... like the previous person said, you will find yourself in some pretty deep you know what. It's just not worth it to lie. Besides, part of your pay if you enlist is medical coverage, etc. for dependents, you will want to disclose everything about your dependents so you will have everything straight from the start. Imagine if you did "hide" whoever these dependents are and then wanted to get medical or something for them at a later date when you have been in awhile ... all the sudden you have these new dependents? Going to look kind of fishy and raise red flags about who you are as a person - definitely won't be seen as demonstrating the core values of whatever branch you are enlisting in! If you really want to enlist it really is not worth it to lie about your background, it will all come out eventually, anyway. Take comfort in this "joke" about the military: "there is a waiver for EVERYTHING!"
Good luck.

My fiance' was told that regardless of what branch you go into, you will need a waiver for any and all dependents. The more waivers, the less likely you will get in. He had two for his dental work and his tattoo. We were told to not get married until he was in for exactly that reason. If you forget to tell or just plain dont tell, and enlist, they will find out and you will be discharged. Why take the risk?

There are a lot of screeening questions that are going to ask you about dependents. Do you have any? Are you under a court order to pay child support?
There are forms that you will fill out that ask about dependents.
So, yes, the Army will check for dependents. But it is up to you to provide that information.
If you keep that information from them and somebody comes looking for you and they have legal documents to suppport whatever they are claiming, you can and will find yourself in some deep you know what.
It is always better to disclose everything. You just never know what is going to show its ugly head.

yes.
BTW, if you lie.. and then get in. what happens then? you can't declare them afterwards, otherwise you would be looking ata fraudulent enlistment and could be kicked out. and if you cannot eneter them into DEERS, than they are not eligible for any of the benfits like medical, dental, nor would you get BAH at the with dependant rate.
how many kids do you have? typically, it isn;t that hard to get in witha spouse and 2 kids. more than that, would require a waiver, but those are fairly straightforward. Unless you have like 8 kids, it shouldn't be a huge deal.
