i am considering the following: navy, army, airforce, marines. i want to know the deployment times for each branch.from what i've read, navy=6 months, airforce=4 months (?), army=14months, and marines=6 months (?) if these are correct, why do the marines have short deployment times? is it because they are in the department of the navy? the reason i ask is because my girlfriend doesnt want me to go away for too long. also, i want to go to one the the service academies (USNA, USAFA, USMA).
thanks.

my girlfriend thinks that navy officer dress blues are the hottest uniform. ladies, what do you think?

Why don't people see that it is Politicians that have put this country into waring areas and not the soldiers themselves? To take your disaproval of the war out on soldiers is attacking to wrong party. How are they going to feel about soldiers when the US gets attacked and soldiers are they to fight - I would think that they would be singing a different song. Don't they realize that because of soldiers they are able to voice their oppinion.

Congress never declared war. The Consitution requires a declaration of war to wage war.

A Little Soldier

She was just a little girl,
and, she didn't have a care,
except, that Dad was missing,
somewhere, way out there.

She asked her Mom for help, where,
many soldier's, like her Dad,
had gone abroad, to save lives,
scared, oh, just a tad!

She knew Dad had a duty,
but, unsure of what it was,
only being four, knew Dad,
fight's for a great cause!

"Mr. Soldier", she did ask,
to a man all dressed in green,
who was ready to take off,
"Please take time for me?"

And, so he knelt, by her knees,
to listen to her question,
she leaned over, kissed his cheek,
without deception.

"Send that, to my Daddy, please,
to show how much we love him.
My Daddy is my hero,
in mind, and within."

She was pointing at her heart,
and the child in the man,
then knew, he found a spirit,
bigger than the sand.

"I am so glad I met you,
little lady, with the heart,
so many soldier's need you,
your Dad's a great part."

"I know your Dad, by the way,
and we soldier's call him doc,
he helps us lad's, with this fight,
and, when we're in shock!"

The little girl, knew her Dad,
and so, knew this was true.
"My Daddy's helping soldier's,
and, will be home soon."

"A Tribute to all Daddy's,
in a letter, she did write,
to Soldier's, and her Daddy,
God, Bless, you did RIGHT!"

I'm a sergeant in the Army, and I am totally against the war. I have been over there myself and I witnessed first hand that we do not need to be over there for any reason. Many senators have also showed uneasiness with the war and have wanted to get out, yet the vote yesterday shows than only 29 of them want to get out. I don't understand it, is it a money thing. Is everyone in congress making too much money from the war to vote to get out?

A True Soldier is tough indeed
standing tall and strong when there is a need
A Soldier also feels sadness, pain, and sorrow
Sometimes not looking forward to the trials of tomorrow

When a Soldier is wounded in battle
the nerves of his buddies it does rattle
When news reaches friends and family at home
how their worries and minds begin to roam

A wounded Soldier feels inadequate at best
stopping him from much needed healing rest
A wounded Soldiers wonders will he ever be alright,
trusting in God that he'll make it through the night.

When a Soldier is wounded far beyond repair
the loss and pain felt can not compare
The Cost of a Soldier is set so very high
they assure our freedom will always apply

To stand beside a Soldier and walk through his pain
will humble a civilian, no longer to complain
Love, patience, trust and hope is what a Soldier needs
to get them through some very treacherous deeds

Dear Lord please watch over our Military today
as they work to keep our freedom everyday
For the wounded and the families of Soldiers lost
Please Bless them with abundant love, for we know not the cost.

The Cost of a Soldier is set so very high
our support for them we should never deny
