That's just it--most of the people who have enlisted since this war started DO support it, knowing full well that they'd likely be going there (if they are Army or Marines, that is). The re-enlistment rates are still high and have been during the whole duration of this conflict; many reenlist while they're still THERE. Most soldiers/Marines, and the comparitively few airmen and sailors who have served there/are serving there, overwhelmingly support this mission because they're taken part in it and THEY know what is at stake. Those who haven't been there don't know what's at stake, and many frankly don't care--to them it's all political ammunition to try to attain their own interests anyway; the war is just a convenient tool they can use to stir up their constituents who don't know any more about the war than what their TV's show them.

possibly your in simple terms no longer the kinda b/f she needs? I congratulate her for desiring to serve this large united states of america. Do you disagree? the militia would not pay for the finished college sha-bang.. that's an rather large fable. in actuality, she will pay for it the first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days if she ops to pick the GI invoice. Later in her enlistment, she will throw in an better six hundred for a larger lump sum as to be authorised for a severe degree.. which incorporates engineering or physics, arithmetic, or doctoral pre-regulation, pre-med. in simple terms because Marines, Sailors, infantrymen, and Coast guard squids deploy would not propose they are going to be shot. there is the form of ingredient as practise... and that is the position the boys and gals hit upon elementary procedures to take care of themselves at the same time as the time arrives. i'm enthusiastic about her to fulfill up. i trust each body could commit 2 years a minimum of... yet, that's after I did 10.. and that i possibly biased, yet i'm a 10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days Marine/ disabled vet. possibly you in simple terms arn't suitable for her. possibly you're the only which needs some psychiatric counseling for disapproving her own judgements. possibly you're frightened about her getting some on the aspect? regardless of the case is, your a weasel and need to furnish help/ no longer bash her. I were given an theory. How bout you both connect and spot the way you want it for a three hundred and sixty 5 days-- and then get married and stationed mutually? That way you are able to both relate.. and both percentage the benefits of serving, all-the-at the same time as, pleasing me and the numerous better authentic individuals that trust in you? :) --Rob USMC

I was a river rat in Nam. I still question what the hell we were doing there. I also served in Turkey for Northern Watch. 6 years Navy, 6 years Air Force and 22 years Air National Guard and 21 years of military technician with the Guard. I did as I was ordered to do.

I don't really support the war in Iraq, but I support fighting for my rights and earning them, instead of the epople who take advantage of them. I believe in Fighting for my family's protection and if that means going there, then so be it.

I joined the USMC June 06 I was supposed to be getting ready to deploy in August, but unfortunatly I got injured and I am prevented from going. A little good news though... My husband and I are expecting our first baby. (unplanned but seeing as i couldn't go anyways, i guess it worked out)

Well...I will tell you I did a tour over there from '03 to '04. As a service member yourself, it's not up to us. Our commander and chief and his staff are the ones to make that decision. All we can do is follow orders and do the best job that we can do. By the grace of God, return home to be with our families again.

Marine Corps PLC.

I love this argument, to cop out of any sort of real discussion on Iraq, liberals just grill anyone supporting it as to why they haven't joined the military to go fight for it. I'm in college now, but I will be commissioned as soon as I graduate. It would be an honor to serve with the brave men in Iraq. I do not join because I support the war, I join because I support America. It is the duty of every American to fight for their country and give back to the country that has given them so much. Thanks for your service.

I'm retired Army and briefly served there before retirement. Unless you've been on the ground there you haven't a clue.

Aaah, the old 'chickenhawk' argument. By your logic, nobody but astronauts should comment on the space programme. Nobody but doctors should advocate better health care. Nobody but police officers should express their views on law & order... etc.

Not that it's any of your business, but since you ask...12 years' regular military service.

What steps have you taken to join the jihadis?
