To add to Geosmith, the family sep is like $250 a month. He might have to wait until he gets back to get it, in the Air Force its like that, I think Army gets it after 30 days, then it starts.
Per Diem is not $3.25, its $3.50. Its not much, but its better than nothing. Also, he will be fed for free, so the BAS is yours to keep.
Also, he won't pay federal taxes, so that is another few hundred in your pocket.
My advice to you though, only live on what you are used to. The extra money you get leave it alone, so you will have some money saved up for when he returns. Then he will have enough money to buy you gold necklaces and cartouches. Yup, gold is cheaper over there, so start bugging him now for the $100 necklace, that will be worth at least $250 when you do get it, hehe.
To W8, even if you are single, you get BAH. Proof, me.

Yes he will still get BAH and BAS. He will also get combat pay which is 250 a month and his paychecks are tax free which is an extra 100 or so. When he gets back he will fill out a travel voucher and get his family seperation which is 250 a month and per diem which is around $3 a day. hope this helps. plus he might make some more on top of that depending on where he is and his job.

As long as you are married to him, ya'll will continue to get BAH. BAH is more for the wives and children than the soldiers. That is for you to have a place to live and pay bills no matter where the military takes him. You will also receive save pay, hazard pay and family seperation pay. If he is deployed past a year then you will also be paid $1,000 extra each month. The $3.50 that is accumulated for each day that he is in Iraq will be paid to him in one lump sum once he returns. This is my second 15 month deployment and I look at the $3.50 as a very nice savings acct. :)

all current pays and allowances remain the same. Additional ones include family Seperation( starts on day 31 and is $250/month). Hostile Fire/Immenant danger( varies, anywhere from $100-200/month) and some soldiers will get save pay or per diem. additionally.. for everty month he is deployed past 12 months, there will be the extra $1,000 per month bonus.

so long as you do not have the military pay for you to move out of the area, or put your things in storage, you will continue to recieve BAH. Also, you will recieve all pay tax free, Save Pay, Hazard pay, seperation pay, and combat pay. Hazard pay varies depending on where he is sent to.

On top of all the other things mentioned in the answers above mine, he will also not have to pay taxes while in combat! Somehow though, I would be more concerned with if and when he comes home before worring about the money?
