as a soldier, I am glad he will not be going.
There is enough media distraction, and we would be spending more time protecting a celebrity than doing our job
he would be much more effective somewhere else
although a bit of combat experience would be good for him....

Lets put it this way:
If Prince Harry goes to Iraq, he certainly will become the target of the enemy. In another word, the threats to Harry and his regiment will increase many folds.
Is it fair to put the entire regiment in danger for only ONE person? Is it fair to add more stress/worry onto the parents of other soldiers in the same regiment because of Harry?
Know the consequence before you complain why rich people are treated differently.

The Yahoo! conservative must be disappointed, they kept using the fact that Harry was going to Iraq as a premise to say that things were getting better in Iraq. Now they will just have to repeat some lie that Limpbaugh has said.

I am very glad Prince Henry is not going to Iraq. This way he will not put other young Brits in danger should terrorist try to kill him, and they would. Why would anyone feel he is just getting out of it because he is rich. He is at least serving in the military. Have you forgotten his summer break he spent in Africa helping the children there. Give those kids a break!

It's not Pince Harry's fault he's not going to Iraq! He really wanted to go, but the military felt as if he was a huge threat to the other soldiers. One he's the third in line to the thrown, and 2 there were specific threats toward him from insurgents!!

NO. i understand that it does not seem "honest", yet would you desire to be in a platoon with him walking down a dismal and abandoned highway in Basra. that could be a dying sentence to all of those with him. he's a objective of hazard with super media fee. I help that he's doing his protection stress time and all the crap, yet Iraq is tricky sufficient on highway troops as that is. that could only make their activity that plenty extra stable. yet right this is a stable question, if something would happen to him, would it not rally the British human beings or make much extra a damaging difficulty approximately your troops there?

Honorable that he wanted to go but it would make his unit a highly attractive target. Insurgents would likely drop everything to focus on the game of capture the Prince!

great, wish are leaders were not exempt or able to buy there way out of it. its great he wants to go but with such a small military force in Iraq i think that it will be a burden on the other soldiers and do more harm than good

I think it's the right decision because it would only but his battallion in more danger than it will already be in. Now if him going to iraq would have been kept from the public, then I wouldn't see any problem with it because the insurgents wouldn't know and therefore wouldn't try to look for him.
