Maybe the most forgotten and the smallest of the forces, the United States Coast Guard. Coasties engage in highly technical operations and have several types of specialized elite units, maybe the top being the MSST. The Marine Safety and Security Teams are like Seals, Green Berets, Marine Recon and they do rescues along with the military mission. MSSTs were some of the first enforcement forces to enter New Orleans. They do not pat themselves on the back, they just get the job done. God Bless the USCG.

There are currently only two "Tier One" units in the military, the Combat Applications Group (CAG) (which is better known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, or simply "Delta Force"), and the Navy Development Group (DEVGRU) formally known as SEAL Team Six. Both are arguably the most "Elite" counter-terror units within the Military, followed closely by "Tier Two" units like Army Special Forces Groups, Navy SEAL Teams, 75th Ranger Regiment, US Air Force Special Operations Squadrons (PJ's, Combat Controllers, Spectre Gunships, etc.), and the Marines new "Detachment One." Many Marine forces are also Special Operations Capable (SOC) and we can't forget Force Recon, but they do not fall under the Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Honestly each unit has it's specific niche and trying to compare their jobs is truly unrealistic. SEAL's don't seize airfields and Rangers don't attack off shore oil platforms.

The Marine Corp. their basic training makes the Army, Navy and Air force look like Boy Scouts.

I think they are all elite because they are all used in different circumstances. They are elite in their niche and they all train just as hard as any of the other elite forces in the US Military.
Lol, some kid is actually trying to say the Coast Guard, it must get difficult picking illegal Mexicans off of rafts? You definitely need a navy seal caliber team for that.

I don't think you can compare Army Rangers (which number in the tens of thousands) to the Navy Seals or Delta Force.

they all have elite forces specialized to do certain things, but i guess if you had to say, who has the best multi role special forces it is most likely the NAVY seals or it is the Air Force Special Forces. Marine Force Recon and Army Special Forces I don't believe are as capable in a multi role situation
