regarding gays in the military? Is is fair? Should people have the right to be open about their sexual preference in the military, or is this the best system?

Help! My fiance is a WWII enthusiast and is really into the tanks that they used during that time. I, on the other hand, know nothing about tanks or war strategies. I'd like to get hime a great book about World War II artillery, tanks, and strategy. Any suggestions?

Can a 0331 (Machine Gunner) support himself and his wife on an enlisted paycheck from the Marines? What about when you throw in a kid?

This would only be for 8 years maximum before the wife got out of college(Orthodontist; good money). Heres the breakdown on pay...

Base Pay- $1630.80

BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing)- Around $900.00 (Up around $1500 in expensive places; Hawaii, Alaska, ect..)

BAS (Basic Allowance for Substance)- $235.00
--------
They have other benefits but those are the main cash ones. Now supported just him and his wife; what kind of house, car, ect.. would he be able to afford? What about when its him, her, and a kid?

Thanks alot. The more specific, detailed the answer; the better.

when there should be hundreds of thousands of US troops rooting out the real culprit on the Afghan/Pakistan border. It makes no sense to me whatsoever.

The National Anthem is played at a lot of different public functions. I always stop what I'm doing, stand up (if i'm sitting:)), place my hand over my heart and face the flag or wherever the music is coming from. It's what my parents told me was appropriate when I was growing up. And I'd have to say I agree. Yeah, people may not be happy with polititians or what the government is doing, but where are American's sense of pride? I look around and a lot of people keep there seats, or worse, talk through the whole thing. We've had many generations go before us for the very freedom to do that. Ok, National anthem is being played . . . . . what do you do, and why? ( I know some people are going to go country bashing with this.)

War is a futile effort to resolve problems. War or other violent acts only lead to more violence, despite the effort to solve the initial conflict(s). War is evidence of human kind's savage and brutal instinct.

My husband is in Iraq and left behind a bunch of those grey t-shirts that he wore for PT. Considering they are a part of uniform, can I wear them to work-out, go running, etc? I don't want to wear them if I shouldn't be. Dumb question, I know but thanks for answering!

With the war going on, I was wondering how the nations unemployment rate is changing. On some sites I see it's 10% unemployment, other sites it's 50-70% unemployment being said. I don't know wo to believe. I can't use Wikipedia, or Fox, or CNN, b/c they lie, so I need someone elses input. Please attach links to backup your piece on how unemployment is being affected, this is for one of my lectures and I need to cite sources. Thanks!!

OF COURSE they can't, because we all know that there are thousands upon thousands of brave men and women who enlist who feel it is their duty. SO WHY THE H...L CAN'T THE GOVERNMENT SEE THAT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE TERRORISTS THINK!!!!! The more insurgents they kill the more they recruit. As a military confilct it doesn't take a genius to realise that it's STALEMATE.
