A woman can join the Irish Army Rangers Wing, but they have to already be serving members of the Irish Defence Force. The official title of the wing is Sciathán Fianóglach an Airm, there is no direct english translation. This wing is considered one of the best in the world beating SAS, Marines and Israeli special ops in training excercises.

For the answerer that said she hasn't seen many women Garda. I have seen loads, both in my hometown of Roscommon and in Galway. There are also alot of women in the Reserves, the former FCA.

My guess would be - yes. If they have the physique for it, why not?

Although judging from the Garda, I would have to say I haven't seen many women in the Garda yet... maybe they're just hiding.

Aren't the Irish Rovers a band that sang that stupid unicorn song back in the 1960's? They are all male as far as I know.
