In history war has always had a purpose with the winner having something to gain. What is the worlds problem with colonization these days? It just seems to me that Iraq could pay for itself and we could stay there continually monitoring the situation if we just made it a territory. If we policed it ourselves and reaped the benefits the people would have a better life and we would solve most of our problems there.

...then do you believe we would have uncovered the WMD program that ALL world intelligence agencies previously knew were there. Did Hans & Saddam simply cause the evidence to disappear at the request of France, Germany, Russia, and Goofy Annan????

I was thinking about enlisting in the Navy. But no recruiter has come to my school. I was wondering….
Do you start out as an enlisted personnel, and then work your way up to an officer?
Or
Do you join the Navy and become an Ensign?

Do you have to go to a certain high school or academy?

I have never really understood how this works and I would really appreciate input from someone who has already gone through it.

Thanks in advanced
~ Mac

At what point are you considered on "active duty"? Is it the minute you enter boot camp?, or is it once you get stationed on a base, or a combat zone? I'm going to join the military by next year and I'd like to know if ill be considered "active duty".

More and more I am seeing paralles between Vietnam & Iraq. The US kicks A** in all out war. But in wars where there are no clear objective, we don't do well. My feeling is that we need to either play to win or pull out.

Im 17, I graduate from High School with the class of 2007 here in the next few months (I should be the class of 2008, graduated early). And I want to enlist in the Marines as 0331, Machine Gunner.

Now, my parents are totally against enlisting; they want be to go through NROTC in college and all that. But I need their signature, their permission, to enlist because Im 17 for another year and Im not waiting a year to join.

How can I bring them over to my side and sign it? (Ive been to a recruiter a couple of times, but would you just need Dads? (Or vice-versa) Or both, Mom and Dads?

Everyone knows this is inevitable, especially after the past couple months; but how long do you think it will take for it to start?

There are a couple of scenarios...

- Israel takes the first hit at Iran, US comes in to help Israel against Iran
-Iran makes the first strike at Israel, US comes in to help Israel against Iran
-(This ones unlikely, but could happen) US makes first strike, Israel comes in to fight Iran

When do you think it will start? And what do you think will be the last straw that makes one of the countries launch the war off?

Who else will gegt involved in the War; on the Israeli-American side AND the Iranian side?

The USA attacked the sovereign nation of Iraq for other reasons than weapons of mass destruction. Iraq had a debilitated army due to sanctions and was never a threat to the United States. Iraq's "government" can't garauntee peace and order in the streets. In reality, there is anarchy in Iraq. I think everybody should clean up their own mess and so should the United States. They shouldn't charge the Iraqis for the reconstruction of Iraq, after all, they destroyed the infrastructure that garaunteed peace. The Iraq war has killed more civilians than Saddam. Iraq is not better off today. They live in anarchy.

I know there are millions of patriotic Americans out there who love this country, and are not swayed a bit by the anti-American and anti-War rhetoric of the liberals. And it's good to know that there are still flag-wavers who love, and would protect this country.

What has been your personal contribution to fighting terrorists? Tell us what you've done. And what suggestions do you have to prevent or resist future attacks?

This is they way soldiers are taught
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5188599301918606321

1 We train the soldiers to dominate the situation, that treating people with any respect will get them killed.

2 We teach them to act instantly to any threat as soon as it is so much as imagined, and to act instantly without thought, as anything else will get them killed.

3 We teach them that even a less than one percent chance of danger will be the one time that gets them killed.

4 We don't teach them that that guarantees that the other 99+% of the time they will have killed an innocent civilian.

5 In order to allow the soldier to kill instantly, without hesitation, we instill deep bigotry, that all potential targets are less than human, unworthy of consideration.

6 We tell the soldier that if they think a shot comes from an apartment complex, even if there is only one shooter, everyone in the complex knows and approves, so taking out the complex is justified, even if you were wrong

Once again the democrats are taking america down! How dare them deny support to our troops. This is an outright act of treason. The ones who voted for no increase in support for our troops should be lined up in front of a firing squad and shot for treason!
