No WMD....

Also...we set them up with their own democracy, police dept, army, political structure....so why are we still there? I just talked to a soldier from over there and he agrees. He tells me that nobody wants the troops there and the troops don't even want to be there.

Do you think Bush is just holding his ground in Iraq because he really wants to invade Iran next?

In my view,

President Bush started out well. The plan for invading Iraq, getting Saddam Hussien out of power, tried, and executed, brought great peace to the Iraqi people. The problem is that Bush has had no plan for a withdrawal from Iraq and is even more clueless with regards to the steps how to bring about stability to the region and its people:

1.) The first concern is, what exactly does the "War on Terror" involve? We have heard little more than "Gung-Ho" military talk about winning the "War on Terror." But what exactly does that mean? I had originally believed that it was supposed to be to bring about democracy and stability to the Iraqi people. But how much longer do they have to wait?

2.) Bush has no exit strategy: It was so important to bring about democracy to the Iraqi people. So let the people of Iraq have their democracy. The only way they will get that is if the troops start to pull out.

3.) Nothing has been done to find Bin Laden, Why?

our government's so-called "photographs" with "Iranian ID"?

So the Bush admin, accused Tehran of smuggling weapons to Shiite militiamen and Sunni insurgents. We see some photographs of these 'weapons' of course, which mean little at this point
But I was wondering. Maybe we could remove all doubt re our government's claims. Because we do OWE the families of our deceased troops some semblance of respect and hoinor don't we?
And the families of the deceased are advised of 'cause of death' aren't they?
And our deceased troops are autopsied aren't they?
And in being autopsied, wouldn't the medical examiner be able to tell us what KIND OF WEAPON caused their deaths?
I'm not claiming that we should know the names/id's of our fallen. What I am saying is that surely, with all of the bragging about how 'advanced' we are re the care of our troops, that an autopsy report would tell us exactly what type of weapon caused their deaths.
Does anyone agree?

I think that if we were to teach the people in Iraq how to defend them self that they would! Please write with me the Commander of the Military about teaching the Iraq people! I think that if we tran together than it would save money and resorces! It is like the old saying goes give a man a fish he will eat for a day, but teach a man to fish and he will eat for a life time!

General George Meade could have easy caught up with Lee's retreating forces outside of Pennsylvania and destroyed them. The Army of Northern Virginia was exhausted and dispirited after their defeat at the three-day long Battle of Gettysburg. Instead, complaining that his own troops were "tired," he let them slink away, and the war last two years longer. Other than Ewell's failure to take the Little Round Top on July 1, 1863, was this the biggest blunder of the War Between the States?

I am very conservative--I'm pro-life, pro-gun, anti-sodomy, etc. But I am against the Iraq war because it's unconstitutional--our military was meant for our DEFENSE, not nation-building.

Has anyone here really considered that there are conservatives who are against the war? Or that Bush is not a true conservative?

I'm sick and tired of the flag-waving jingoists around here!

I have a friend who is barely out of Basic Training in the military. She is considering going AWOL. I am unsure of what her punishments could be. She is non-deployable at this time, and is still going through training. I think she just needs a break, she seems to be of mental instability. What actions could be taken against her?

I am ashamed of our leaders in Washington...America does not quit...we are not a nation of quitters...why then are the Democrats in Washington giving in and throwing up their hands?
The resolution opposing troop escalation and the vote today to "send a message to President Bush" is an embarrassing waste of time and taxpayers money and can serve no practical purpose except to let the enemy know.."you are winning the war, and America is just about ready to give up."
What say you?

I know the obvious answer is from the inside out. I have always thought that the state of the union adress should be targeteted. Another good way to divide us would be to target events which promote religious or cultral groups in order to divide us along basic lines (attack the NAACP and the whites get the blame). After that it is time to attack larger targets and force chaos. As far as the attack on Washington D.C, one would need to place a nuclear warhead (the russian mofia has them for sale) set to detonate during the State of the Union Adress. One member of the government would need to be assassinated simultainously (A low ranking secratary is kept away from Washington in case this very thing happens). If the perp is smart the divice will detonate after he has headed to a non-extradition treaty nation. The truth is however if this happens it will make us stronger. America will stand forever unfourtinately we will end up in economic ruin.

Where are the WMD? What would have happened if we never invaded? They didn't have ties to Al Queda. My concern is this: If we invade every country that poses a threat we will be fighting for years to come. US is known for peace and democracy, not for starting wars.

I am a female, 23 years old. I go to basic training in May. The doctors might think I have MS (muscular scerlosis), I have about 95% of the major and minor symptoms, and I have been going through them all my life, just never understood them and thought they were just normal, normal for me anyways.

I want to stay in the National Guards, I love the army. And as long as I have a non-combative job, I would think I would do fine, I mean, I can still function you know.

anyways, do you think I would have a chance to stay in the PA army National Guards if I am diagnosed?

thanks in advance
