If we had not gone to Iraq, the terrorist strikes would have continued in the USA. OUR country would resemble theirs.
The idea of invading Iraq was not our idea. They came here to kill Americans. They drew the first blood, not America. We had to defend our country which is exactly what we are doing.
God Bless the USA!

Iraq would have been a safe haven for terrorists now.
I dont think it was a bad idea. We went into Iraq because of intelligence reports dating back to the early 1990's that Iraq had WMD's. Both the UK and the USA had similar reports. The USA tried to diplmomatically resolve this, agreeing to let the UN inspect Iraq's military bases and other buildings. Saddam refused to let them have total access. We threatened them with economic sanctions. They still refused. This is the period of time that I think Saddam got the WMD's out of they country, most likely to Syria or Iran. Finally we went in and overthrough the Iraqi govt. We have discoverd mass graves that proves he had some sort of WMD at one time. Since then the Iraqis have had 3 democratic elections. Saddam has been tried of his crimes and been punished for those crimes.

YES and NO. NO bcuz we had many casualtiez - and yes bcuz we have advanced so much in technology and physical power that we can almost do anything. We now hae more control in the danger zone. But the truth is that if we never invaded Iraq - we would find another way to get access to the hard evidence in middle east.

afganistan would be more stable and bin laden would most likely have been captured by now.
the divisions within the usa over this horrible decision would not be as pronounced as they are, and our political process would be healthier than it is now - the real tragedy of the quagmire in iraq is how americans no longer listen to each other and no longer really debate anything - they just repeat talking points hoping to get 30 seconds on the news.
al quaeda and other terror groups would not be as strong and robust as they are now.
our military would be more prepared to deal with real threats, not made up ones like iraq.
iran and north korea would not perceive that the usa is weak, and would not be so bold as they are now.
about half a trillion dollars that has been wasted in iraq could have been spent on projects in the usa, boosting our economy and maybe helping some people all over the world.
about 3,000 american troops would not be dead, their families lives would not be shattered forever.
hope this helps...

Iraq wouldn't be full of terrorists and death.
Saddam was evil, but he was better than what Iraqis are experiencing now.
And because of the war, there are thousands MORE terrorists, and the West is MORE likely to get attacked.
Edit: Saddam did NOT support Al Qu'aeda terrorists and was NOT an Islamic extremist. Before there were almost no terrorists in iraq - now there are thousands.

The world would still have a horrible tyrannical leader, terrorists would be using Iraq to further their cause unabated, and the world would still hate Americans.

We wouldn't be in the mess we are now. Over 3,000 young men and women would be with the loved ones, instead of buried. 10s of thousands to soldiers and sailors would still have their arms and legs, vision, hearing, etc., etc. This war has been a disaster from day one. The Iraq people would still have Saddam as their leader, and any fight they had would be among themselves. Our national debt wouldn't be as high!...and, if Al Gore had become President we'd be working on global warming. Perhaps, we would have also caught Osama by now... but, since Bush decided that Saddam (he tried to kill his daddy!) was more important than Osama, we haven't really done much to catch him and bring him to justice.

I think it was mistake - I've always thought it was a mistake. We should be spending those billions on our OWN country. Improving security of our transportation systems, increasing our defense capabilities, improving our school systems (for our future generations). There is so much to do right HERE... not in some land where no-one wants us. And we STILL haven't caught the mastermind of 911... Bin Laden!!!!!

If we didn't, Saddam would still be murdering his own people by the thousands and he would have developed a bio weapon that could have been used on the US.
Too bad Saddam fell and broke his neck...or do you prefer his method of keeping people from freedom?
