Just wait. There will a bloodbath sometime this century that will make WWII seem like a little kid's birthday party. The Middle East is going to REALLY blow up (Iraq is nothing compared to what's going to happen), China and Russia are going to start flexing their muscles and steamroll over Europe and Asia and Africa AND South America, and the starving Third World is going to rise up and try to seize a piece of the action. Get prepared. That's why this girl is learning Chinese.

Exciting? I suppose you could use that term since it inspired a lot of nationalism and fervor, as well as quite a bit of action...
Wars aren't like World War II anymore because the United States is the major superpower, where as before there were a few nations that shared this status. During the Cold War era, there were a series of proxy wars fought between capitalism and communism... since today the major war issue seems to be terrorism, the battles will necessarily be skirmishes. Furthermore, the creation of the United Nations allowed states to scream at each other at push around a lot of useless legislation instead of arriving at war declarations.
The main reason, however, is probably scale difference; so many other nations (more appropriate to call them countries or states) are inferior today in relation to the might of the more industrialized nations, which are basically allied. Since the less industrialized and less developed nations can't take care of themselves, let alone stage attack on other countries, wars (or conflicts) are always of a lesser magnitude.
Hope that answers your question...

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! That's great. Remember the quote of some unidentified Marine in Vietnam who was shot and getting bandaged up- "I hate this movie!" All war is exciting, dude, even thumb war. Tell you what, man, for a real war experience, put on an extra layer of clothes, load about eighty pounds of random shite on your person, walk up and down your street a hundred times, dig a bunch of random holes into the backyard to a depth of roughly three feet, crap in those holes and then step in the crap for the hell of it, then go run out onto the freeway and go back and forth about six times. When the traffic's really moving. Make sure the boring part lasts about two weeks, and think about running around on that freeway the whole time. If you're still around at the end, go find a bar, then tell all the chicks about what you just did and watch them look at you strange.

Oh yes, very exciting, people being bombed, cities destroyed, death and destruction on a grand scale.
What kind of sick question is this? I presume none of your family had anything to do with the war, no relatives missing in action, no death or upheaval.
War is not exciting, its pointless and evil. It splits families, nations etc.
If you want to get a feel for yourself, go and join the foreign legion and see what its like. Do us all a favour.

I find this question to be a bit disturbing, There is no such thing as a exciting war. The lives that were destroyed, the home left in ruins, towns a burning rubble. You need to rethink your mindset.

Depends of who you ask. It was the beginning of the greatest growth in this nation. Post war growth.
Technology does not allow wars like WWII anymore. Weapons are too destructive.

What is your criteria for exciting? I have to say that I hope you are young. War is never exciting. It is nerve-wracking, frightening, stressful and deadly. Exciting is not an adjective myself or any other veteran who has been in a combat zone will use to describe our feelings.
