I have been in 11 years and just reenlisted yesterday for ten more. I am married with three kids. It is an awesome career with good pay and benefits. I started as a Military Policeman and then went on to explosives. It has been an awesome ride so far.

I will be retired at age 40! With a pension for the rest of my life. I am about ready to finish my degree and the Army paid 100% of it. It has taught me a lot about life, allowed me to see the world, and enhanced my resume making me way more marketable.

I have met some of the best and most patriotic Americans in the Army. Over half of the Army is married and the support you recieve with base facilities is awesome. I think every young person should try the Army. They have a two year enlistment option to try it out. The Army is the only service that allows YOU to pick YOUR job 100% of the time or you do not enlist. They also have the fastest promotions of all the services.

I was in the Army for 5 years, went to Iraq twice.I really enjoyed the Army.I am an Army wife too,my husband is serving in Iraq right now.The only reason I didn't reenlist is because we have a 5 month old daughter and I want to always be there to take care of her.My husband's heart breaks everyday because he is not here with me watching our daughter discover the world. The Army is a great life expierence and because of my service I am able to go to school full time right now and not pay any of my own money, the GI Bill is great.

I think the army serves this country well and it is good place for young people to learn values before going out in the world. In addition those that join the army get their education paid for and get to see the world if they are so inclined.

There is always the chance to have to fight for this country being in the army, but that will instill lessons to the soldier that they would not get anywhere else in their life.

I love the Army. I enlisted after 9/11 and figured i would go to iraq, i didnt want to, but i did my duty. I gave up on a good job to serve my country. Since joining, i have finished my masters, been all over the world (even the bad parts of it) and wouldnt trade a moment of it. Its like any other job, you have your good days and bad days, but i'll take it just like i do everything else, one day at a time.

Couldn't agree more with "I hate liberals"

I don't hate liberals....But I think it's extremely Un-American for them to just say, "Alright, no more funding for you, you've given up your life, yeah, we see it, great, but we don't appreciate what you're doing in Iraq, whatever."

I think the Armed Forces in General are amazing. I have the deepest respect for our servicemen. They are the bravest in the world and they're giving their lives for our freedom and the freedom of those who are without it.

Wow, I just read Philbertpheinstein or whatevers post......I don't even know what to say. You're just a disappointment to this country. I'm sure our servicemen losing their lives would love to hear you say that to their face.

What a disgrace.

I think it is under a big strain having a major military undertaking in a situation that has no military possibility of victory.

I believe that our armed forces are poorly trained as far as the "boots-on-the-ground" goes. I don't think that our troops should be trained to be police but should be trained more vigorously as warriors. Sending our young people into the barrel as soon as they finish basic training or calling up the reserves who have not faced the training needed, is murder. With the world as it is with the radicals, a more concentrated training should be given to our troops.

Its great, one thing for sure, it will make a man or woman out of you.And they have some great opportunities. I think I'd see where this war is going before enlisting.
