I am a female, 23 years old. I go to basic training in May. The doctors might think I have MS (muscular scerlosis), I have about 95% of the major and minor symptoms, and I have been going through them all my life, just never understood them and thought they were just normal, normal for me anyways.

I want to stay in the National Guards, I love the army. And as long as I have a non-combative job, I would think I would do fine, I mean, I can still function you know.

anyways, do you think I would have a chance to stay in the PA army National Guards if I am diagnosed?

thanks in advance

As a retired Army medical officer, I don't think it would be a good idea to stay in. Even as a non-combatant, you can be deployed anywhere in the world, for things like hurricanes, earthquakes, etc, and if you develop symptoms that need treatment, it likely would not be available to you. These are the reasons the Army would discharge you from service. You want to be a help, not a drag on the medical services. Just like Diabetes, it is one of those things that disqualifies your service. Look Up AR 40-501. Standards of Medical fitness. You should let your commanding officer know about your diagnosis.

first its multiple sclerosis, not muscular...its actually a disease that affects nerves...

I would think maybe as long as the symptoms dont interfere with your duties they may...but then again, maybe not, talk to your recruiter...
