The USA attacked the sovereign nation of Iraq for other reasons than weapons of mass destruction. Iraq had a debilitated army due to sanctions and was never a threat to the United States. Iraq's "government" can't garauntee peace and order in the streets. In reality, there is anarchy in Iraq. I think everybody should clean up their own mess and so should the United States. They shouldn't charge the Iraqis for the reconstruction of Iraq, after all, they destroyed the infrastructure that garaunteed peace. The Iraq war has killed more civilians than Saddam. Iraq is not better off today. They live in anarchy.

Iraqis are people too! They are getting killed because Bush initiated the war and has no idea how to achieve peace. By cleaning their own mess I mean Americans should send more troops.

those who are against sending more troops, What kind of state will Iraq become if the American troops are withdrawn? Is this good for the Middle East? The World?

Bush tried to destroy Iraq. He is personally responsible for hundreds of thousands of innocent people dying and for the death of over 3100 brave Americans. He was determined to shove his brand of democracy down their throats regardless of what they wanted. This whole war was a huge mistake. Iraq and the American military have suffered the results of this president. Because of him, this country has lost face with the whole world. We have no goodwill that we had after 9/11. I will agree that Iraq needs assistance but in my view it needs to be thru the United Nations. At this point, the Americans being there are only a catalyst for violence. Iraq will need to heal but not with America riding shotgun on it. We need to clear out and let the United Nations and rest of world help heal this attrocity that Bush so happily waged. I do not know how he sleeps at night knowing what he has done and the deaths he has brought about.

The invasion of Iraq was wrong on so many levels - it's basically genocide in order to steal their oil. That's why I'm joining the rest of the nation on Saturday, March 17, 2007 to call for an end to the Iraq war. Not another death, not another dollar - it's time this war ends now. There's going to be hundreds of thousands of people at this march, check out the event details:

Yes WE need the Help and the Money and support form Congress. We had a bunch of UN resolutions that forced the situation and we did not act Unilaterally. Our Jets were attacked in the UN mandated "No Fly Zone" We Know it was not because of 9/11 and WMDs was a SMALL part of the reason. Protection of the Kurds ( like when Clinton went to protect the Bosnians) was a large part of it as the UN tends to look down on ethnic Cleansing. calling Iraq A sovereign nation is a stretch as it was a condemned nation BY UN Resolutions.

1 We train the soldiers to dominate the situation, that treating people with any respect will get them killed.

2 We teach them to act instantly to any threat as soon as it is so much as imagined, and to act instantly without thought, as anything else will get them killed.

3 We teach them that even a less than one percent chance of danger will be the one time that gets them killed.

4 We don't teach them that that guarantees that the other 99+% of the time they will have killed an innocent civilian.

5 In order to allow the soldier to kill instantly, without hesitation, we instill deep bigotry, that all potential targets are less than human, unworthy of consideration.

6 We tell the soldier that if they think a shot comes from an apartment complex, even if there is only one shooter, everyone in the complex knows and approves, so taking out the complex is justified, even if you were wrong about there being a shooter there (see # 2 & 3)

Then we send them over to win the hearts and minds of these people, making sure we are only killing folk who hate us.

If there are any signs that this is not working, send 50,000 more troops and tell them to ratchet all that up a few notches.

If you don't like the "We" part of this, copy it and send it to your Congresscritter and tell him you want to opt out.

Have you ever seen the way the Iraqis were treated by Saddam? Have you seen the mass graves where over a million Iraqis were gassed or executed by Saddam? The sacrifice was small to remove this man from the face of the earth. Most of the resulting deaths were actually from the power struggle to take over the region but you cannot have good without some bad. Iraqis now have freedoms that they never had under Saddam, I know it may not last but many bad guys were killed through the sacrifice of a few good guys.

against. I live in the UAE and Bush seems to think that all the Middle East is terrorism city-- it's not. He is very wrong with his views. From here you can easily see that Iraq is in trouble as they have a new government. I am against Bush as well. He has no idea what he's doing.

Against. I live in saudi arabia, so i have a better view than most americans. Saddam is dead now, so Iraq would have a better government, right? Wrong. Americans just took over Iraq, just like Brits took over India (1800's). They thought that Saddam being away from power would let Iraq create its own democracy. Didnt work.

No increase in troops is needed. We need to pull ground troops out and continue with SHOCK and AWH!!! From the Air.

Same as in Afgahnastan, Arab/Muslim countries dont care about anything but oil money and terrorism.

We are being to nice, they don't think about helping us after they suicide bomb us or anyone else do they.

So why should we think or care about them.

We should also stop all Muslims/Arabs from coming into the U.S.
because if we don't they will hit us again.

Yeah the troops have been so succesful in establishing peace and democracy in Iraq right? WRONG! It is truly delusional to think sending more troops will solve the problem. Madness.

complex issue, but i like your way of reasoning it out. truly, there are no guarantees in the middle east -- or anywhere else, for that matter! i'm against sending more troops because i believe that, since there are no quick solutions, the best bet would be through negotiations. sadly, we are at least two years late in realizing this.
